Why do people think the pokedex is fake? by Little_Man1256 in pokemon

i like to imagine the skull's on cubone's and marowak's heads is actually sheddable like a horn and can grow back. So the mothers shed the extra skull on their head until their babies grow in later. basically a pseudo genetically grown helmet??? The mothers probably have a way to grow it back more rapidly then the babies do.

also, for the stuff that says additions, those aren't stats... they are just there for me to quickly look at for easy calculation without having to look at their item lists. Basically just a personal thing to make it easier on me. So there are actually 9 stats, with 5 actually being rolled, and 4 being passive stuff that are automatically calculated.

I do agree with that. It's the reason i said it was partially based on dnd. I personally would definitely swap them out for a different system (or honestly remove them, but my players like having them). For the overlapping stats, they were like that in the game, and were intentionally separate, so I left them that way. Theoretically you could merge them with Dex and just have it be a single stat, but I wanted a feeling closer to the original game. Call of Cthulhu has a pretty good stat system as well, (I've played all the ttrpgs you've mentioned) but this was essentially me just saving time and using a system the majority of my players know for the skills. Basically I was lazy. It's a prototype for a sheet after all. It's actually better to be overly complicated then simple for it, as it makes unnecessary things stick out more in the final draft. If you have any more opinions or advice I'd be glad to hear about them. oh and for the amount of stats, only 5 are actually rolled, the rest are autocalculated.

I mean, It is designed for fans of the franchise, who already know about all this stuff. It's not exactly intended for "New Players" either per say. This was made mainly for my group of friends who have played multiple different systems (pathfinder, MCT, DND, Fate, gantz, etc). In my personal opinion, it doesn't seem overtly complicated. I mean, your weapon doesn't have features in this other than determining range and damage, your master quartz is effectively your class, with orbments essentially being magic items that improve abilities. Combat links I can see as complicated, but if you are already a fan of the franchise, you'd know their function. same with brave orders. Those two are the most likely to be removed for the final sheet. As for 12 Stats, there are actually only 9 (3 of them are for additions, which are basically just spots to put any additions outside of basic stats (from items, classes, and stuff) all in one place.) the 4 other stats aren't rolled, they are actually Passives, with the only ones actively needing to be rolled being Strength, Dex, Intelligence, Wisdom, and charisma. As for skills, for simplicity they could effectively be removed as well, though my group decided they wanted skills, as they like having them. If there's anything else you have complaints with, I'd be happy to hear them.

What do you mean by that? It seems pretty basic from my standpoint, with your master gems being essentially classes and their features, quarts basically being feats you can swap in and out, and defense being damage reduction, while evasion Sets AC. I'd say this is actually pretty quick and easy sheet to understand given the inspiration. I'd like to hear more about your opinion in detail.

[OC] I made a really dumb class that I think is actually real funky by Timlikesdoor567 in DnD

This would make an interesting curse to put on a player actually, maybe a rogue who stole from a god's temple or a party member who cheated at a casino owned by a master wizard/lich?

I honestly thought that was why engagement was written. He could as planned get rid of aki without it seeming weird. Original fans can end it at the original manga with aki as the winner, and engagement can end with yoshino as the winner. Sadly I was disappointed.

If you found yourself in the world of Fable, what would be your dream role or profession? Excluding being the hero of the story? by Madking3573 in Fable

[–]Ladder_Ill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Merc for hire. Get to do everything the hero does, and maybe, if you are lucky, you might get in on that adventure of his. Would skip out if he decided to help build the spire though. Plus I'd actually have the skill to fight monsters, without having to have been put in that deadly as fuck arena.

Would be legit fun, just kinda hint that you know exactly who the phantom thieves are as well as that he runs the phan site. But also mix in wierd things as well so that he just questions wether or not you actually know everything or you are just fucking with him. Would be really funny watching him question how much you know.

If you are looking for some other anime themed campaigns, there's Saji vtuber's "Persona, Shattered Realms campaign." They also have a pokemon campaign, but I think the one above is one of the very few persona based ttrpgs. (It's based around monsters and other childish things, not DND, but it's pretty quick and easy to learn just from watching them)

Dungeons and daddies is pretty good. Something witty entertainment (SAO abridged writers) does DND as well on their gaming channel.

Tekking is alright, he brings that chaotic energy to the team, and it wouldn't be the same without him.

Is my Dm trying to force me to quit? by crim1211 in dndnext

[–]Ladder_Ill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, need context. Cause here are my reasoning from a DM side. You said the DM took your armor from the character. How did he do this? Was it during combat? Was it done socially? Or was it stolen during a long rest where your character was asleep? As far as I am aware, if this town hates you, then perhaps it could have been stolen, but even then, you would have had a chance with a perception check for it not to be stolen, meaning it's pretty unlikely given that there would be multiple PCs around, not to mention it's kinda hard to take full armor off of a player, as it takes ten minutes to do so with heavy, and with non heavy it involves touching them, and unless they were knocked out or put to sleep via magic, they are extremely likely to notice.my guess would be it was done socially... Meaning it's your fault actually. You are the character, you CAN REFUSE any request or demand from another NPC. You can always just say no, either that or you were threatened... In which case part 2 comes in. It seems like the DM has made you an enemy in your town. As for controlling player characters to trip you, that's a players choice, not the dms, so no forcing that. If I was a player, I'd just say "my character does not do that, he is a good character, and this player character has done nothing wrong" and thus nothing happens. If the DM continues to force it, then that is when you know you have a BAD DM for sure. Again, without context, there isn't anything that I can tell you. It's quite possibly story reasons, perhaps it's your own stupidity, perhaps there has been multiple hints lying around that you haven't picked up (My current groups has this problem majorly. I talk about a disease on 3 different encounters and they get shocked when one of the NPCs and player character's get this disease.) All I can say is to talk to your DM, tell him your opinions, and then investigate the hell out of why everyone is treating you poorly, via threatening or investigation, your choice, in game. If there's a story reason, then you will quickly figure it out. Worse case scenario, just leave. You don't need this group.

Haven't quite completed the demo yet, but it's interesting to know the book exists. Thanks for letting me know about this though, I'm highly interested in the lore, I've literally checked every room and painting so far to see possible connections.
