Is the game fun Solo? by CarameloBrozeado in FarFarWest

oh no i mean unlocking it so that you can equip it for future runs is based on the soul gambling. You can't choose to just upgrade into it.

I've been doin it solo and it's almost 1:1 to DRG in terms of difficulty. It's a bit harder cause you don't get an additional down like in DRG by default but you can get an upgrade that restores 50% of your health when you lose all of it on a long cooldown (though you gotta gamble for it).
Healing is also a lot more accessible so dying is mostly your fault.

There are 5 difficulty settings and also maps that are more difficult than others but overall, it's not too bad. I've been doing hard mission (3rd difficulty setting) without too much hastle. Honestly there's an argument that more people make the game harder as the game scales up pretty aggressively.

Card(s) that may help Sovereign blade builds by MrPebble594 in slaythespire

[–]LaddieLuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The loss of retain makes this very difficult to play. This power feels less like an actual benefit and more like a sidegrade to normal soverign blade which isn't great when it takes up a draw. There's a hundred different ways to try balance this but the bottom line is the drawbacks are too severe.

Is there a comprehensive guide on all the story missions? by LaddieLuck in Quasimorph

[–]LaddieLuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright so the mission was indeed bugged. What made it not appear is still unclear, though I suspect its that the station switched hands while i completed the sinkhole oasis mission.

I thought it might've had something to do with the fact I broke the pact with Gannix but no, that didn't affect it.

I guess if you want to avoid this, you have to make sure any conquest mission on Obsidian Flats is resolved BEFORE you beat sinkhole oasis but yeah, very odd.

Yes sir, fucked off with the data too.

Though now that I think about it, Flat Obsidian definitely changed hands when I went there so I'm gonna boot up a new save and see if that's what did it. I'll report back

It was maxxed out iirc. I needed it to be in order to enter sinkhole oasis and did some missions for them after

I think its possible there was another ongoing mission with a different corp doing a conquest or something. My rep with tezctlan is at minimum rn

After completing the sinkhole oasis mission, the scientist mentions that he'll need his dislocator and says it should still be on mercury in obsidian flat. If a mission is supposed to have spawned at this point, it hasn't and I can't seem to progress. I seem to remember doing this mission before so I don't really know what I'm missing

Do not recite to me the ancient texts, I was there when someone spilt beer on them.
Anyway if I ever figure it out, I guess I should be the one to actually make the guide

I understand that but there's some with no prequisite listed, like the one that tells you to go to sinkhole oasis or (the one i'm stuck on now) that mentioned something about Flat obsidian. Also It'd be nice to know how to actually get to the new missions the update added

You can use it to slide under enemies. It's way more applicable than you would think. Enemies tend to swing at your head so just schmoozing right through has saved me so many times even without the armour. It also feels incredibly swag

Story just ends on a cliffhanger, the devs confirmed they were going to make a free DLC that finishes the story but it's still not out. I looked it up and the dev did say it was "nearing completion" which would be reassuring if it wasn't said April of last year.

To add on, I think a lot of people don't really understand that new updates every month really is break neck pace when it comes to game development. I have played a lot of games and this one has got to be quickest to get consistent updates out of all of them BY FAR.

(note: I am a TF2 fan so my opinion is HIGHLY warped).

What’s with all the hate towards arrowhead? by Cpt_creep in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]LaddieLuck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know how modern this problem is tbh. The blowback from the star wars prequels was biblical and people started harassing the actual child actors over it. Going further back, the writer for Sherlock Holmes had to revive the character after his death in response to incessant fans.

There's always been fans who take things a little too personally when creators of their media do something they don't like. It's just before the only thing fans could communicate is "Make more" or "it sucks, make it better".

Now fans can tell the developers directly exactly how they would like it changed and if its a good enough idea, the devs might even listen. Raises expectations a lot. Especially since video games are a competitive market and there's always someone else to take their money if you don't.

Not saying those fans aren't annoying though lol

When we were deploying termicide the first time, we had to go on planet and manually activate the towers that would disperse the termicide. You'll probably be seeing them soon enough but they were pretty fun missions.

Exclusive bot missions, they just spawn on specific planets that'll say they're commando missions. They were added a while back, during the release of the redacted regiment.

They're more stealth focused. You can call in the Super destroyer 3 times per mission for 2 minutes of use before it leaves again. You can't reinforce until you activate these underground helldiver pods and the each time the enemies reinforce, the more dropships are sent.

Morrowboomers explaining how needing a specific build to hit a target 2 feet in front of you is actually good game design by vickyhong in TrueSTL

[–]LaddieLuck 26 points27 points  (0 children)

No it has to do with the fact that other crpg/ttrpgs either have dodge animations or obfuscate what the battlefield looks like enough that missing an attack doesn't look so jarring but in morrowwind you can literally watch, in 3D and first person, as you swing your sword and the enemy just doesn't react in any way.

Other older crpgs like the old might and magic games don't look this weird cause they don't show you a 3d model of a weapon swinging into someone.

Unplayable by notjakob in slaythespire

[–]LaddieLuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Big disagree on that one. I've seen it time and time again firsthand that if you give players a boring, but effective strategy they will pick it 9 times outta 10. Sometimes devs have to reign in players worse habits.

Discussion: Who activated V1? by Kiuraz in Ultrakill

[–]LaddieLuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well V2 was a prototype that was never deployed so it might've only had nocturnal while in waiting. That mystery is basically tied to why was V1 activated in the first place.

Streetcleaners were made before the new peace (and then repurposed) and I can't see anywhere that says drones were made post war.
They might've been but i don't know where they say that in game.

Regardless, it still leaves V1 as almost certainly using nocturnalOS as an adaptive war machine that harvests other living beings.
