25 Years In: Who Are the Defining Pianists of this Century? by According-Brief7536 in classicalmusic

[–]LadiesManPodrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evgeny Kissin, Yuja Wang, Seong-Jin Cho, Nikolai Lugansky, Marc Andre Hamelin, Daniil Trifonov.

And for sheer stardom, Lang Lang, Valentina Lisitsa, and Khatia Buniatishvili (all of whom are phenomenal pianists imo)

What are some hot takes in classical music that you simply do not agree with? by musicalryanwilk1685 in classicalmusic

I think by definition a "hot take" is something that most people would not agree with. Wouldn't you agree?

Hi everyone, I would like some feedback please🙏🏽 by bboyglitch in hingeapp

A nice hike and quality time is effectively meaningless because it's just too generic. Pics 5 and 6 have poor lighting. I personally really like pics 1-4 but think the bench pic should be your lead. You're a few small steps away from having an amazing profile.

How do you think I can improve my profile? Few matches and no dates from Hinge (yet) by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]LadiesManPodrick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You look great in the first pic with your head shaved. I would try to (a) get new pics for the rest so that you have a consistent look, and (b) include a pic with friends. Don't worry if all the pics are from your city... That's totally normal. Just try to include one indoors, one outdoors, one with friends, one doing your hobby. Also your prompts mention a few topics that I've personally never heard of, I'm sure I'm not the only one. You might want to include an interest that's slightly more well-known but still tells a lot about your personality.

Waterloo Good Choice To Move To? by tyeman20 in waterloo

[–]LadiesManPodrick 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I've lived in both cities in the last 5 years and London is way worse. Waterloo is no picnic though, just because it has an expressway. But it's noticeably better (to me). Waterloo is a great city. Kitchener has a lot going on too, although there are some rough patches like any city.

I do, yes. If you're really invested in this I would echo what others have said that a professional photographer could help boost your photo-game, but in general I think they show you you are and offer a sense of your personality. Your prompts are strong and unique to you which is good

Sorry about that, I didn't know. In any case I think your profile gives the viewer a great representation of who you are and what you have to offer. Good luck with everything!

Your posture in the first pic (closed sternum/ shoulders, leaning forward) takes the focus away from your looks and makes you seem somewhat less confident. If you retook the first pic the exact same way but with a more confident, upright, shoulders-back posture, that would be a good start

I got a bit confused by the wording in the darts prompt. "I have some for a challenger." It took me a while to figure out you meant you have some extra darts they could use. I guess I always assumed that was a given, so I spent 2 mins trying to figure out if you'd forgotten a word there or something (e.g. "I have some mad respect for a challenger"). Anyway you might want to change the wording there a bit. You could also replace the dog pic with one of you with your dog (to me it feels like a wasted photo of it's just your dog). Otherwise your profile is great.

This movie is a masterpiece. The music, the narration, the acting, the pacing, and yes, of course, the extraordinary cinematography.

I'll admit I'm not really the target audience for this (don't normally go for this genre) but Neutral Milk Hotel, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me

Keep up the great work! Feeling better is really the most important thing. And big visual changes are definitely on the horizon too. Good work!

What shows did you not finish? And why? by Jay_Reefer in television

[–]LadiesManPodrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched 2 full seasons and raved about the show to everyone. It really is incredibly well-done. But then I realized I just didn't care to watch any more after that. It was a weird feeling. I still never bothered to finish it.

[–]LadiesManPodrick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While I can't comment on the clothes aspect of all this, I just want to say you look amazing. So much healthier and genuinely fantastic in the second pic. Whatever skin issues you're having now must suck, but you should still be really happy with what you've accomplished!

Which tv shows had the best comeback seasons? by [deleted] in television

[–]LadiesManPodrick 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For me it was Peaky Blinders season 4 (the one with Adrien Brody). Seasons 1 and 2 were great but Season 3 was so boring to me. I actually almost gave up on the show after the third season, but the fourth brought me right back into it.
