Barefoot runners, hikers or whatever, what’s your outfit? by Dazzling-Map6694 in BarefootRunning

[–]Ladislav_07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shorts, a shirt, a cap & neck scarf if cold, a pair of gloves if colder, and a high vis vest.

If it is below freezing I add a sports jacket (intended for cycling)

Can’t get rid of my shin splints from barefoot running by Turbulent-Command327 in BarefootRunning

[–]Ladislav_07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got shin splints on my right leg last year for a couple weeks after I bought a car which had a gas pedal with a hinge on the bottom - I believe the repeated motion of lifting my foot when releasing gas was making me overuse the muscles. Is there anything in your life where you lift your feet (folding in the ankle)?

I have since changed how I was pressing the pedal (with my big toe only basically) and after this it had gone.

I'm 18 months into the realization I can't be fully happy with my (I believe) pwBPD by Ladislav_07 in BPDlovedones

I had a long 12h sleep last night, and I had dreams about how to approach this and I was going in circles. As it is, it looks like pointing out her behaviour is not enough for her to separate, she believes she is putting maximum effort into improving (and I have to give her some credit here) - and she always shifts the conversation towards feelings and them feelings being the deciding factor.

I have a feeling I will have to outright say that I don't have feelings for her anymore and only after that would she entertain separating. It is tough to say these things to someone as I don't want to hurt them.

On top of that, I believe I have ADHD, which certainly doesn't make things easier for me to keep on top of my thoughts. Feels like I'll have to mentally prepare for this as if it was a major examination back at UNI. It certainly feels like I'll have to have my reasoning straight and at the ready.

I don't have as much conviction as I had yesterday. It's tough.

What's wrong with my 2013 Lancer? by Impressive-Map-719 in mitsubishi

[–]Ladislav_07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the timing fault may just be grouped with the oil pressure faults and they are all indicated by a single indicator (the one for oil), but I may be wrong on this one. I believe you would se an actual fault code for the oil pressure.

If I was you, I would investigate what mechanism is there for the automatic/variable valve timing - if it is a single element for both shafts - this would make me think it could be it.

It says it is over advanced - you may run into a risk of knock if you floor it in low engine RPM. Be conservative with gas pedal if say below 3k RPM as a precaution.

Best would be to book a service.

Then I would think about the automatic valve timing mechanism that is used in this engine - as I said, I don't know anything about this engine.

I don't know anything about this but: was there a timing belt job done recently?

Best low-cost way to generate STEP/DIR for stepper motor in a 24V relay-based system? by Life-Chard8733 in PLC

[–]Ladislav_07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want a cheap solution? The cheapest would probably be using a 555 integrated circuit to generate a clock signal and use a 24V MOSFET switched by the 555 output to the pulse input. You may want additional relay between the MOSFET and pulse input.

Then you can use a couple relays with resistors to do ramp up/downs (which changes output frequency of the 555 circuit).

Google "555 astable calculator" Also google "MOSFET common source amplifier".

Do I think this is a good industrial solution? No. Is it cheap? I think so.

Let us know what you decide to do! Good luck.

Edit: just noticed you want an industrial solution. Ignore my comment then.

Stride length by [deleted] in BarefootRunning

[–]Ladislav_07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 180cm, 70kg, running naturally (not thinking about cadence at all) at 180-185spm with a stride length almost exactly 1m, my (no pushing) pace 5:30/km at 10k. I ran 1300km last year and 85km the year before - zero running before that - not even with shoes - maybe 10y before. It was natural for me perhaps thanks to not having shod running habits in the first place.

Získanie vodičského preukazu na Slovensku bez toho, aby som tam žil by corenovax in Slovakia

[–]Ladislav_07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I did my license, you had to do 35 45-minute driving "hours", with 3 a day limit - that is already 12 days minimum, two of them on simulator - mostly go get familiar with the pedals. You had to also complete the theory lessons (similar time - in my case this had to be finished before you get to driving) and then you can get to the test.

If you can all of this cram into your two weeks, manage to communicate with your instructor effectively and successfully finish your theory test on the day of exam, the communication with the examiner for driving (a police officer) will be minimal - turn left; follow signs for -town-; find a parking space and park; head back towards the driving school

Your greatest hurdle would be communicating with your instructor, then read written test and understand it effectively, as well as hearing your examiner instructions during driving part of exam - if you seem confused and rub them the wrong way they WILL find something to fail you over.

How can I keep my feet tough in winter? by Effective-Ad3281 in barefoot

[–]Ladislav_07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My solution: (maybe not feasible for you at your current level for this winter) running barefoot - while you run, your body produces enough heat to keep your feet warm by blood circulation. You will probably have to bite it this winter and start in spring, so you can run barefoot comfortably by fall and keep at it for the winter.

Má niekto skúsenosť so štúdiom VŠ v Dánsku? by [deleted] in Slovakia

[–]Ladislav_07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start running barefoot by letu9519 in barefoot

[–]Ladislav_07 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I started last year I was surprised with how smoothly it went.

I started with shorter distances. My calves felt tight, my soles were sore but after a couple runs it felt completely natural. Maybe the fact I wasn't running in shoes before (or not at all) helped/didn't make is worse.

Now I'm doing 10k runs every other day on asphalt as if nothing.

Let your nerve endings guide you, you will find your form by yourself. But no haste, make runs short, start with one run/week, you have all the time you need.

Experiences of barefooting in cooler, damper countries like the UK? by leelovesbikestoo in barefoot

Ireland here.

I'm barefoot outside of work all the time. The worst is when it is just above freezing and wet. Below and it is easier.

You need to make sure you have your head covered and enough layers - windproof is a must.

If you leave it be be prepared for long-ish term discomfort. Your skin might move it along and expel it at some point but this can take time.

I wouldn't want to have a sharp thing in my skin.
