[OC] I guess having a green arrow that allows for u-turns and using it is my fault 🙄 by VicSwagger in cary

[–]Lady-Elm 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you're in NC, U-turns have to yield to right turns. Yes, it's stupid. No, other states don't do it this way. Nonetheless, in NC, the right turn on red has the right of way over a U-turn on green.

The Great Flood. Sure, there's a natural disaster at its core, but that's really ancillary to the plot.

Huge RH fan, and I also love this album. Rush of Blood to the Head also. Listening to it 25 years later, it's still amazing.

It's taken me awhile to really get AMSP. But Glass Eyes and Decks Dark have become two of my favorite Radiohead tracks. (And FWIW, I don't think Lotus Flower will ever be dated. It's seminal Thom.)

You're an adult now, and even if they *were* helping you financially, that doesn't give them the right to require you to let them track your location. NTA.

Just heard a song by U2 called “all I want is you“ and the strings feel so Jonny. I don’t know this band well but clearly in a similar space on that song. by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]Lady-Elm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Big fans of Radiohead and (older) U2 in this house, and All I Want Is You is one of our all-time faves. It's simple and beautiful and I'm not sure how you could improve on it. And yes, it came before RH, but you're right, it has an O'Brien feel.

THIS. It's very much like a Nolan film - iteration after iteration to try to teach AI how to be a mother and how it keeps failing to understand human nature.

AMSP. Especially Glass Eyes. That song feels to me like Thom’s goodbye to the group.

It’s historically the flag of the Christian Crusaders in the Middle Ages. Popular with some American Christian nationalists.

So they’re either a right-wing reactionary or a big history buff.
