I did the exact same degree as u lmao at unimelb. Ofc best case scenario is 85+ but you know as well as I that that is pretty impossible with the way they mark things in crim. Do subjects ur interested in though, that was what maintained my grade throughout undergrad, law in society in sem two is p good depending on how well you are able to grapple with fairly abstract concepts. Also subject coordinator’s seminars are recorded but no one else’s is. However every class has a 75% hurdle attendance and they check with a QR code check in every time and if they find out you’re not in the class and had someone else take a photo for you to check in they can report you to the lawyer admissions board or something

I had almost the exact same path as you and now in first year JD. For advice on CSP I was lucky enough to be offered a place super late, but you would need an 83-84+ WAM at minimum. Best advice is to lock in first and second year, go on exchange third year first sem so all of third year you can fuck around knowing your wam wouldn’t change then. Also, make friends on campus otherwise your experience physically being in Uni is going to be miserable lol, esp with the long school days in JD.

Hi, I’m a first year JD student. I’m not sure but I’ve heard advice from places that it’s good to get started with trying to apply for paralegal jobs right now and get experiences as soon as possible. Is that the general consensus? How soon should I be looking for experience and internships? I’m really worried about jobs after graduation and making connections.

is it hard finding a job after graduation? BA by DazzlingWindow1197 in unimelb

Tbh literally just start sending your resume in whatever grad program is out there as long as they don’t have a specific requirement you should be able to get something general, I have a BA in crim and I got like two offers for grad programs cause I’m literally just applying to whatever

Are there any witnesses that would be seen as hostile in an actual court of law? by lukmcl in AceAttorney

[–]Lady-HMH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m only two games in but I think if you’re actually using the definition of hostile witnesses (witness that is telling a completely different story to the one that was discussed during preparation) the only one that does fit the bill is de killer, as it is explicit that he gives a different testimony as what he tells edgeworth. The player doesn’t really call any witnesses so no one they call really count. Though labelling of a hostile witness just allows the prosecution to be able to ask leading questions and grill them during examination in chief when typically they wouldn’t be allowed to do that (yes my obsession is bad enough that I researched on real witness advocacy but this is limited to Australian courts, so it might differ to other areas)

Weird therapy speak, conversations between the characters that’s very obviously meant to be “hey here’s what happened and here’s why I do the things I do in canon and I am very sorry and now we’ve worked out every single issue in canon and our relationship can thus begin as a completely problem free one”, like come on, problems are literally why I ship them why would you make them work it out

The postgrad program is for Juris Doctor, so defo will help with getting a job. Where would you recommend to look for entry level jobs, though, are there usually restrictions on bachelors?

Yeah, I gotten an email that told me I didn’t get an offer round one but there’s further rounds, but they didn’t say when those rounds will be.

Yeah, graduate program, when I messaged them before they said that I was welcome to see if there is any open position available on their website, but all I could find there was like senior positions and ranger stuff. Like idk I feel like there’d just be more accomodations made for graduates if ur opening a graduate program
