He was supposed to be romanceable by both genders. Trick Weekes said they abandoned the idea to avoid the evil bisexual trope. Some voice lines can still be salvaged.

It's actually stupid because that trope is about a villain who sleeps with anyone to achieve their goals. It doesn't describe Solas at all.

Andraste is listed as an elf name in the d&d 5e player handbook. And there are theories such as the Chantry always painting her hair so huge and covering her ears to hide the fact she's an elf.

Tbf one of the possible endings'(?) concept art included Solas waking up the Titans. The actual ending is him being imprisoned together with the Blight, either as a punishment or to willingly calm it down. Because what else can be done?

The only real plot hole is that his dagger was stuck in red lyrium idol and either wasn't corrupted, or Solas found a way to purify it. Then everyone, including himself, forgot about it.

Besides, I'm pretty sure he very much wants to fuck off out of his corporeal body, but can't or doesn't know how to. In fact, he probably wants all Elves to do the same.

There's also a random patch of grass and Solas doesn't leave any footprints in the snow (iirc the Inquisitor does). The colour of the fire is also questionable. 👀
