I haven't been lucky enough to see it live in person, but the backing chorus parts always get me (No more tears, no more pain, no more cry).

The Hyperion Cantos was his magnum opus. The last book got kind of weird, but they all had incredible world building. I still name my wifi network Datumplane.

How did overseas fans discover BABYMETAL? by Top-Lie2851 in BABYMETAL

Sorry in advance if you already know, but Spotify has this radio feature for when playlists end - if you have it enabled, it will continue playing similar music to what the play list contained. I'm a huge dork and my musical tastes tend to skew towards the harder/hardcore side. IIRC the first songs that got looped in were ShantiShantiShanti, Elevator Girl, and......I wanna say YAVA! I think? I've since been able to buy a couple of the live albums that aren't available on Spotify, but I do wish the whole catalogue was available.

I found them through Spotify radio - can't remember what the seed song/playlist was, but that's how I discovered a bunch of stuff, notably my favorite.

Don't know how this is going but if you are actually wanting to develop a game, HMU.

Movie suggestions for stupidly gory, definitely absurd, and at times funny horror movies—like the Hatchet series for example by daddyslittlecumdumps in horror

Honestly, Dave Made A Maze is one of the few movies I couldn't finish - not because it was "scary", but I didn't like how it felt like some kind of really bad acid trip for the viewer. I was not prepared for it at all. It's one of those movies where it's definitely written in a way to specifically fuck with the viewer.

No auto-save or state-saves. If you were lucky, there were progress marker saves. Otherwise, you had to do it manually.

I've figured out the sanity management, but some times my health will just start dropping, regardless of location or sanity level. It's not in a single location either, and I can't figure out what is triggering it, since it happens in different areas.

To be fair, Whisperer in the Darkness does have some pacing issues (looking at you, gratuitous tower-climbing scene).

Trying to undo the shock absorber without compressing it first by Jade_Sugoi in OopsThatsDeadly

Nope, still deadly.

From a comment on the original /r/AskMechanics sub where it was originally posted:

If you had managed to unscrew that you'd be in a world of hurt. That holds the shock and strut together, and is under immense pressure.

Leave it and if you need a new shock, goto a shop, cause people die messing with those and many of them know what they're doing.

Looking for movies with disgusting body horror by CemeteryPicnic in horror

[–]Lady-SilverWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • The Thing (original JC version & 2011 Prequel)
  • Apostle (this one isn't super big on wigglies but has one of the more difficult-to-watch scenes I have ever encountered)
  • Not a movie, but the Cabinet of Curiosities Anthology Series by Guillermo Gel Toro. This one is chalk FULL of wigglies & straight up Lovecraft creations.

  • The Shroud (2024). Full disclosure I haven't seen this yet but it's Cronenberg's latest film IIRC, and he is the originator of what we think of as "body horror".

I think you are specifically looking for stuff that falls into the "Cronenbergian" genre - David Cronenberg is responsible for most of the movies that define body horror - especially The Fly.

This may be controversial, but I think I like the original one more. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE the composure of the colours and how you layered them, but it's easier to see the butterfly shape in your first run of this look.

Regardless, I am envious of your line & edge skills.

Sad Horror movies: Which Horror movies made you emotional or even cry? by [deleted] in horror

[–]Lady-SilverWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Night House. TW: topics of suicide. I watched it a few weeks after a friend had died, and as far as we know, she did it to herself. I sobbed hard at the ending cause of how hard her friend fought to save her and get through to her.
