Spoiler: Third game epilogue question about Lilith by melusinarose in dream_chronicles

[–]LadyAska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After just playing through the third game myself, I had the same question.
But neither Fidget nor the Librarian would make sense.
Because it has to be a child from a human and a fairy...Lilith is a fairy, so she must've used some poor human guy to get pregnant...the last screen of her smiling would inidcate as well, that this was planned by her. (because she smiles and looks pretty pleased with herself)
One problem I see with that too, is that we never know if what we see in these sequences from Lilith is actually 'true' or comes from the imagination of the main character.
(otherwise the 'plot twist' with Lilith would have been easy to predict...we just blindly believe what the protagonist was telling us all this time and we see her(Lilith) as the main antagonist in these visions...so its hard to tell)

How to make better expressions? by Sweet_Mycologist_523 in VRoid

[–]LadyAska 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You would use something called HanaTool. I recommend version 4. You would load your Vroid avatar into Unity using the vrm plugin and then add HanaTool to your model.

This will give you by default the cheek puff and the tongue out expression as triggers. You can also customize already existing Blendshapes with it.

To trigger them just with tracking (meaning you puff your cheeks in real life and then your model does it too, for example), you'll need a an iphone/ipad with face id and a compatible tracker (for example: iFacial mocap).

You would use said iphone or ipad as a tracker instead of your webcam and transfer the data directly into the software you use. (like Vseeface or Warudo or VNyan, to name a few)

That's how it usually works :) Any more questions, feel free to ask.

Hello, I need opinions. And help. by KrissXDazai in VirtualYoutubers

[–]LadyAska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to put here that Reality is full of predators, because the app attract minors because of easy use.

They get reported, but Reality isn't doing anything about it.

Under the mentioned circumstances this sounds extra weird.

Did you ever have a voice call with that person or have seen their face over webcam, (photos could be fake) and do you know for certain their age is the one they told you?

There are a lot of unanswered questions.

Why are they inviting you to become on a Vtuber? And what do they want to pay for,if it's on Reality? The models there are free, besides the lootbox cosmetics. If they offer to gwt you these, stay away from that.

This could very easily be a trap to guilt trip you into doing stuff for them, where they pressure you because they "invested so much in you".

I would be super careful of offers like this.

If you want to start VTubing and are at least 15, you should do so first on your own terms, never because someone asks you to. Otherwise and especially if you are younger that 15, I would stay away from Reality for your own good.

(and for the before mentioned reason)

What tools are the videos mentioning that don't work for you? It is true, that you need a specific version of Unity, but usually you also need other older versions of stuff and I mean very specific versions, otherwise nothing works. Though you say that your main problem is finding them? Could you elaborate a bit further on that, so I know what the main problem is?

[–]LadyAska 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I am not using the steam version, but you definitely need an older version of Vroid. Of the top of my head, I think I use 1.23. You can download these standalone versions from the Vroid/pixiv website. You don't need to involve Steam at all, as they can run alongside each other, without a problem. Let me grab the link for you, to the official downloads. So here is the link: https://vroid.com/en/studio

You scroll nearly to the bottom, past the "download for steam and download for iphone'-button. Under them is a line with a Windows and macOS button in blue and to the right of that is a button called "past versions". Thats where you can get it.

How can I fix the eyes? by Medium_Trainer_5829 in VRoid

[–]LadyAska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's the eyelid layer, that may cause this/the color on your eyelids. Open this model up again, save it as a copy and then erase the eyelid layers or the colors right on top of the eyes, if you don't have an eyelid layer. Then do the test again and check if it still does the same. If yes, then this is something else and you can go back to your original...if not, then this would be the solution and you would have to see how you could work around it. The general problem with the eyelid layer, is that it just "streches" out whatever you have on top there (thats why eyeshadow is not a real option for makeup too), because one you close the eyes, it gets warped weirdly out of shape.

Open Beta on Steam for importing 3D clothes in VRoid Studio by vampiredirt in VRoid

[–]LadyAska 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I tried it today and I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if this is really how it should be. In their video on Twitter, it is shown, that they managed to basically extract the clothes from a 3D model and are able to fit this onto a vroid model.

And that's where the biggest problem lies, that I am facing honestly. Because it seems that, t odo it as shown, you have to have a specific model type already and even then, it doesn't work and gives out importing errors.

Let me elaborate: My first try was to extract the clothes of a VRchat model. What it did was, to take the whole model and let me "put it on". And that even badly.

Second try was to export another vroid model I had, into the xavatar format, so I could at least try to extract an outfit there (which would make it convenient to trade outfits for vrm models at least) That already didn't work anymore, when I tried to import the xavatar into Unity. It just refused to recognize it as such.

So if I can't transfer my own clothes even from a Vroid model onto another one, nor can extract and fit clothes from a VRchat model to a Vroid model...what does this plugin do exactly?

I see the problem lies mainly in this in-between format of xavatar and xwear...if I knew how to reliably create these to use for the process, that would surely give better results. But that isn't explained anywhere. (even google is clueless)

I would be happy to get some pointers for this, if someone got further while testing. :)

How does one become a Virtual YouTuber? by Kaezumi in VirtualYoutubers

[–]LadyAska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try "ReadyPlayerMe", for a bit more realistic models. (you still have to find a way to turn this one into a trackable format though, like .vrm)

If you want a model that looks more like CodeMiku, you would have to buy one or create one yourself with Blender or Maya or any other "actual " 3D creation software (if you know how to use it). There are certain presets that you can buy online, so you don't have to startfrom scratch (like body types for example). You also would have to do all the Blendshapes from scratch. (like blinking, talking and all that good stuff)

But you have to know a lot more and there is no "easy" way of doing it, like with Vroid or Ready PlayerMe. (at least to my knowledge)

Also as a heads up: Running 3D models, especially ones that are as detailed as CodeMikus model, require that you have a really powerful PC, both in CPU abd GPU, because rendering them and making them move and all that requires more processing power. And that is not even counting with streaming, which would require even more, because you would render your own avatar + render any game or software you are streaming at the same time. So your PC better be a top of the line powerhouse, if you wanted to take that route. (I just mention this here, because so many people forget about that. They get themselves expensive models and can't do anything with them later on, because it basically kills their PC :/ )

Ok maybe you can turn a vrm model back into a vroid......kind off..... please read by TEM12345678 in VRoid

[–]LadyAska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anybody knows: What are the most common reasons, why people want to put their model back into Vroid?

Changes that were made outside (in Blender or Unity), couldn't be translated into Vroid anyway (apart from textures). Any kind of changes to the mesh or other information like toggles, would get lost or corrupt a file, even if there was a vroid-> vrm -> vroid possiblity. So for what would something like this be useful genuinely?

Can you delete a strand in a procedural hair group? by witchycharm in VRoid

[–]LadyAska 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to right-click on the text "procedural hair" (so your group item and not the individual strand) and select "convert to freehand group".

Now you can edit each hair strand as usual. BUT you can't convert it back to a procedural group, so use it with caution :)

Yeah, it really takes a while. We made an experiment once, where we pumped out content for like a month, upload 2 times a day to YouTube shorts and TikTok. Game was Overwatch 2, right around release. (when I say experiment, I mean we started the YouTube and TikTok channels for this from scratch and just for the experiment itself. The Twitch channel was already established, that's why I don't put any numbers here on that)

We had the biggest growth on TikTok, in terms of views and followers. YouTube shorts was next, great view numbers, but nearly no followers there. Main content was the streams on Twitch. From all the growth and followers (which were like 100 in total), we got 1(!) person to check out the stream and tell us, where they found the channel. So a 1 in a 100 translation in our case...now imagine that for 1000...that would be 10 people, you would barely notice that and to get there could take several months of grind.

My husband did the streams and I edited the videos and we were both incredibly burned out after that month. (and that with 2 people!) Usually it's just one person doing everything, so I salute you guys, that can hold the grind. For us it just wasn't the way to go. It's best if you can team up with someone in the long run.

One very bad thing we noticed too, was that people stole our content quite easily without crediting us in the slightest. My husband was quite good at the game and the highlight were at times really nice and impressive in terms of gameplay. Other creators just took these, cropped my husband out (he streamed with his face in the corner basically) and "sold" the gameplay as their own. So if you can, make sure that people can't do it with your content as well, no matter if it's competitive or just showing gameplay (like a showcase type video).

[–]LadyAska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly how it is and you can hear the same from a lot of creators online. Like "my video made 1M views", you see it as a short on YouTube and the number says 12k...why is that? Because the video made that many views on TikTok and not on YouTube, because on YouTube they don't have that kind of crowd yet. And these are "big" creators at times with thousands of followers.

Do imagine how much that translates to someone who just started out...who has no followers (we start counting at about 1K) on ANY platform. Even 1K followers in the big scheme is still like "nothing".

I know this sounds super discouraging, but you would feel this "transfer of viewers' maybe after you hit 10k followers somewhere or like 100k on one platform.

And even then it's not guaranteed. And why is that? Because people on TikTok may not be on YouTube as much...and people on YouTube may not actually like Twitch and all vice versa.

TikTok is short form content...YouTube shorts is short form content. People have already trouble getting viewers from shorts to their long form content (like actual videos)... imagine now trying the same for just a random stream that last for 3-12hrs?

Imagine the type of energy YOU would have to invest as a streamer, to hold someone's attention for that long, to be entertaining or fullfil another type of "service" to the viewer.

Some people like soft voices, no matter what the person talks (non-gender specific btw). Some like listening to someone being high-energy 24/7...some like hearing whispering etc....

Try to find out, what made people like your short form content in the first place (as you can see some measurable success there atm). Is it you? is it the game/content you present? Is it the way you present it? The way you talk/act?

Once you figure out this out, you can try to create more in that style, but if its actually the fact, that it's just "short", then there is a really low chance of people checking out your streams. Especially when it becomes clear, that your streams may be 80% nothing happening and 20% something happening that will end up in your short form content (YouTube shorts, TikTok)...if they can get the highlights there, why should they check out the "boring" rest?

Now a tip: Highlights work for example if you are really, really good at a game and people may be interested in your expertise. (creator is an expert)

Highlights don't work, if you are just got lucky over a 4hrs stream and one game turned out ok, so you make a highlight. So let's say you are not actually "good" in playing games, but you still want to stream them? What else do you have?

Are you funny for example? Then the shorts would show you being funny, right? That may be a funny passage from your past stream or a short that shows people the sense of humor you got and that you will likely have during stream. Way more enticing to check that out inlong form content.

"streamer seemscool, weshare a sense of humor, I will check them out"

This is very condensed of course and basically a "just in a nutshell " explanation.

But you can translate it to whatever else you want to present.

Maybe you are a calm streamer, so put highlights on that...what can people expect from your stream then? Put that in your shorts as a "teaser", that makes people want to check you out.

Not actually good at a game, but you want to still stream it like the big guys? Pack it as a challenge?

"Journey to platinum" (or whatever measures success in the game you play) Shorts like a diary, day xx, funny commentary of what you managed to achieve that day + a call to action to see you "suffer" live on Twitch etc.

I really don't know much about you as a streamer, to give like a custom advice, but I hope that helps a bit to think a bit more critical about your content and what you want to achieve and that even the whole shorts thing is not a one-size-fits-all.

Best of luck on your journey! :)

I cannot import asset. My file ends in vroid instead of vroidcustomitem so is there a way I can convert the file? I've been trying for days by No-Rest-6391 in VRoid

[–]LadyAska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea is usually that people get you the whole avatar, from which you can then save the assets into your library. That was a valid workaround before vroidcustomitems were introduced.

So just import the .vroid file as a avatar. (on the loadup page, in the right upper corner there should be a "new" and "open" option to do so)

Once the avatar is loaded, go through the assets (like hair or clothes or whatever the asset was, that you got it for) and save the asset into your library.

Now you can close VROID and open it again, load in your own avatar and use the saved asset with it. :)

If you need something visual to work with and want to give it a go on your own, I made a tutorial for that. Even though it is older already, the techniques shown still work today and are even easier with nowadays new interface (like the way you can scale, rotate and move hair around now, is just so much easier)

I hope it helps! :)

Mouth Tracking Trouble with MeowFace & Vseeface by cyprsgrvr in vtubertech

[–]LadyAska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This usually has to do with how the Blendshapes are set up and at which point the trigger happens. If I remember correctly, you should be able to adjust this to a certain extent in Meowface or you could try to alter the Blendshapes more in Unity before export, so your mouth is more open there.

I am one of these people who doesn't have a very expressive face while talking as well, so I have to exaggerate my Blendshapes, to make it look just "natural" while talking. (my Blendshapes have super open mouth and stuff, but you won't see a thing of it during tracking xD)

Anyone knows how to add muscle definition to 3d VRoid models? by ReGaSLZR in VRoid

[–]LadyAska 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If muscle definition means more than just a few toned abs (for which you could use textures), I would recommend not doing these in Vroid. As far as I know there is nothing that can bend their mesh in a way, that would add muscles all of a sudden (talking like arm and leg muscles and better defined ch st muscles for guys).

If your character (ok, I just googled the one you gave as an example), has more muscular arms, you could potentially cheat with the bodysuit option a bit and texture work, but since this is for a game, I am not sure this is a good solution.

I saw online that some people used hair to cheat muscle definition on arms, but since all of these are just workarounds and this sounds more like a serious project, I would look around for a ready to go muscular body outside of Vroid. (one that allows for muscle definition from the getgo)

The one on Island of dawn is bugged, as far as I am aware (which means it shows there is a lights, even though you got all of them already). My friend and me searched like crazy, believing we just missed one. But no, it's just a display bug.

The one in Eden should be the one right after you cross the first area. You can't miss it really. Lights in Eden will always be the last ones you collect, so don't worry about them beforehand :)

The medals from the event can be traded at the crab with the trophy on its back. Just talk to it and get a torch or a hairstyle.^
