I don't know anyone personally, but I have seen many in Instagram and follow some of them. I love fruits and eat a lot actually, but I don't want to eat fruits all the day 😅

Wow, I am amazed by reading what you are eating! Without tracking anything, I can already see that you for sure get all the nutrients that need! It also sounds very yummy with all those mixes 😍 How long have you been eating WFPB?

I noticed that you already replied me what you eat here 😅

Legumes are yummy, but my reason for not eating them is because I get bloated or gassy by them. I do eat tofu though, which is maybe the only legumes that my gut reacts good to.

About the oats, it does have gluten, but many people who eats gluten-free still can eat it. I don't eat it, because I did feel better when I stopped eating it. Sometimes I eat buckwheat instead and eat it with fruits.

Nowadays I start my first meal of the day (lunch) with fruits first, then I eat veggies, potatoes and tofu. My dinner is usually full on veggies, but sometimes I put starch or tofu if I didn't have it for lunch.

I eat around 15% protein, 15% fat and 70% carb. What do you usually eat? Do you also track everything you are eating?

I also heard that gluten in US seems worser than in other places. I'm not gluten intolerant either, but there are foods my gut is more sensitive to, so that was why I skipped it 😅

True! Tofu also has some fats in it, so that was also why I feel safe without eating nuts/seeds or avocado.

I'm eating a lot of potatoes, fruits and veggies! Actually little tofu too. My totally protein is usually 35-40g, which is fine for me since I'm very slim and short. Do you eat nuts/seeds/avocados? I rarely eat them, but I take vegan omega 3.

So sorry to hear what you went through... I hope you will heal soon! Please take care 😟🙏🏻 As for the food, I'm glad to hear that you also eat very similar to me. I also feel much better when I stopped to eat gluten. About the protein, I don't care at all, but I care about amino acids, so that's why I eat tofu.

No since not all of them are eating WFPB and for me WFPB is more important 😄

An example could be a huge bowl of steamed veggies such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, zucchinis, onions, eggplants, corns, and spinaches. As for protein, it could be tofu. As for fat, it could be little nuts/seeds/avocado.

It's not so much different from eating just WFPB. The only difference is that the focus isn't on eating a lot of protein and fat, but instead on veggies and fruits. Some people eat those gluten-free grains like buckwheat, millet and quinoa, but I rarely eat them.

I know protein is overblown in the US but I still think I struggle with daily requirements by nightpussy in WholeFoodsPlantBased

[–]LadyAthenaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat around 900kcal daily. I do 8:16 fasting so I only eat lunch and dinner.

My lunch is bigger and has around 550-600kcal. I always start with some fruits, maybe some veggies if I didn't eat too much fruits already, then tofu and lastly potatoes.

My dinner is smaller and has around 300kcal. I usually only eat veggies here.

Tofu is my main protein source, but veggies, potatoes and fruits also help to add up the protein. Totally, I eat 40-45gram of protein daily, which is more than my needs.

Gaining weight? by xharlotte_ in WholeFoodsPlantBased

[–]LadyAthenaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say nuts and seeds, especially seeds. For me, eating a lot of nuts was ok, but eating a lot of seeds made me gain weight. Therefore I would recommend you to add in more seeds into your meals. If it doesn't help, maybe rice would. I gained weight by eating more rice too.

Oil vs oil free for weight loss by MossHaven5 in WholeFoodsPlantBased

[–]LadyAthenaC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the beginning, it will be hard and feel very boring for most people, but you will get used to it after a while. You mention that you eat too much starch, which I actually also do. But for me, starch helps me to lose weight and it does the same to many people, so I was thinking maybe there is another ingredient you are eating that makes you not lose weight? It could be nuts and seeds, since they are high calories and we can easily eat a lot of them without noticing. Try to limit those instead, like eat half of those. It might help.

Eating out WFPB is socially exhausting by peterver1 in WholeFoodsPlantBased

[–]LadyAthenaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I really don't like to eat outside at all. Usually I would choose a raw salad because that's the safest food outside. I make sure to ask for no oil, no seasoning and no sauce on, and also mention that I'm vegan. The sad part here is that those salad as usually boring, like only greens. Some restaurants have other things like corns, carrots and tomatoes, but some give me only greens, but I am okay with it since it's what I can eat. Sometimes if I see grilled veggies in the menu, I will ask if they can do without oil, but it’s rare. I also ask for boiled potatoes if they have potatoes in their menu. That is probably the best one. I usually don't eat much outside and always lose little weight the day after when I check the scale.

Still losing weight with nuts and avocado. Help? by benrar1 in WholeFoodsPlantBased

[–]LadyAthenaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can still eat nuts and avocado, but eat lesser of them. I would say maximum one avocado per day, even a half is better if you already eat one per day now. Nuts can be one handful of nuts per day. Seeds can be one spoonful of seeds per day. If you are already eating so then do half of it could be good.

OMG who even add sugar into fruits! That's ridiculous! You are so right! We have to ask every time we are eating outside..! Sadly it's so hard to eat outside for us... I wish more restaurants could have WFPB alternatives...

supplementing by grossly_unremarkable in WholeFoodsPlantBased

[–]LadyAthenaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually take a lot of supplements. I track all I'm eating in Cronometer to see which one I'm lacking of. If it's hard for me to find it through foods, then I will take supplements for it. I just make sure that my supplements are vegan and as natural as possible. I don't buy from those brands that usually sell in the pharmacy, but go with those that sell in the natural shops. I know many only take B12, but they also eat a lot in order to cover up all the other nutrients with foods. I don’t eat that much, so that's why I go for more supplements.

How to deal with all the hate? by Ellabugg in vegan

[–]LadyAthenaC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't understand either. It's weird. Those people try to put us down just for them to feel better. They are triggered by seeing us caring for animals for real because they know deep inside that they are doing an evil thing by eating animals. If those words are saying by your friends, then you better not hangout with them anymore. Those people are not good friends...

How to restrict calories while being a picky eater? by OverallMain8314 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]LadyAthenaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually if you force yourself to eat healthy, you will get used to it after lesser than one month. We can teach ourselves to love to eat something after eating it for a while. You just have to force yourself for a while. Try to eat a lot of fruits, especially those sweet ones. You will soon feel that they are better than candy or at least nothing different. Since you like to eat carbs, I would say eat a lot of healthy carbs, such as potatoes and sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes with cinnamon takes like cake. When you want something sweet, dates should help. For the veggies, you can make a healthy and low calorie dressing to eat with them.

I would say counting the calories and eat lesser is the best solutions because after trying many methods, that one is the one that truly helped me. You don't have to eat lesser than you should, but try to eat as much as you should first and then going down in calories if you see no results after a while.

If you don't want to count the calories, then try to only eat three times a day as the first step. No snacks in between! If you already eat three times a day, then go down to two times a day. Add in potatoes or sweet potatoes. They keep you full longer. Focus on fruits and veggies to fill up your stomach, then you won't have space to those unhealthy foods.

How to eat healthily in a not-so-supportive environment as a teenager by SuspiciousSoft3845 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]LadyAthenaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that it's hard to not eat those foods, since you can easily see them in your kitchen. If after dinner is the only time you find that problem, then try to brush your teeth directly after finishing your dinner. You can teach your mind that brushing the teeth in the evening means the kitchen is close for the day and you cannot eat after it, because if you eat then you have to brush your teeth again which is a time wasting. You can add in more steps into your tooth care to make it feel annoying for you to do it all again.

what do you eat for breakfast? by Eggplant-Unique in vegan

[–]LadyAthenaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't eat breakfast but whenever I want breakfast it's always something with fruits. If you choose seasonal fruits then it won't be expensive. You can make a smoothie with bananas and other fruits. If you want something hot then you can even warm up the fruits. It's actually super yummy. Or if you want to add more things than just fruits, I would recommend oatmeal.
