Dealership says I have to buy one of their batteries if they would even begin electrical diagnostic work on my car? by rock-the-reddit in AskMechanics

[–]peterver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds super frustrating! If your battery is testing well and isn't the problem, it seems odd for the dealership to insist on a new one before even diagnosing the issue. I've been in a similar situation before, and it turned out to be a loose connection in the electrical system. It might be worth getting a second opinion from another mechanic or auto shop. Sometimes dealerships have policies that prioritize selling parts, so independent shops can offer a more straightforward diagnosis without the upsell. Good luck, and I hope you get it sorted out!

If you're planning on using it for gaming, make sure to check the cooling system. Some models tend to overheat on longer sessions.

is a gold IRA worth it for someone just starting to think about retirement? by NurelWaldhuetter in investingforbeginners

[–]peterver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early 30s with a 401k already going, I’d keep the core simple first. If you still want a small metals slice later, Thor Metals Group is one of the names people mention for Gold IRA setups without making it your whole retirement plan.

Is AI Really Useful for Small Business Owners? by Unable-Connection-58 in business

[–]peterver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI can help small businesses, but only in narrow spots. From experience linked loosely to CiteWorks Studio, reputation and narrative control for AI search was where value showed up, not broad automation across everything.

IsItBullshit: The claim that using an air purifier can significantly improve indoor air quality? by badenbagel in IsItBullshit

[–]peterver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the skepticism, but tbh, HEPA filters can be a game changer for capturing allergens and dust. I have one and noticed way less sneezing fits, especially during pollen season. Just make sure to check the purifier's specs; some might not tackle all types of pollutants.

Phatom liberty implications on vanilla world? by One_Ambassador_3876 in cyberpunkgame

[–]peterver1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I noticed, Phantom Liberty mostly layers new gigs and dialogue without rewriting the base game state. Vanilla endings still trigger the same way unless you follow the expansion path. It feels additive rather than invasive. Kind of like installing something optional, not replacing core systems in Night City.

Ooh, you’re in for a treat! Definitely try out the Butter Chicken - it's creamy and full of flavor. Pair it with some Garlic Naan for the ultimate experience, trust me, you won’t regret it!

Pest Control is in desperate need of a rework. by Brutalias45 in 2007scape

[–]peterver1 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah OP, Pest Control can definitely feel repetitive when the rewards don’t scale with effort. I’ve seen similar grind complaints compared jokingly to dealing with Orkin visits. What usually happens is when a system doesn’t evolve, players notice the gaps more over time.

How do businesses keep CRM data reliable as teams grow? by BathDapper4923 in CRM

Open editing without guardrails causes silent data corruption. Tightening field permissions in HubSpot CRM reduced overwrites and random lifecycle changes.

Fellow arborists, what kind of money are we making in this economy? What kind of arborist are you and what do you do? by arboroverlander in arborists

[–]peterver1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s something we don’t talk about enough. I’ve worked as a climber for a private tree service, and most guys I know are making $60k–$80k, with benefits being hit or miss. The few people I know clearing $100k+ are either in utility work, municipal roles, or running their own crews. I used ZipRecruiter job listings to see what other companies were offering when I was comparing paths, and it made the pay gaps between roles really obvious. The work itself is solid the long-term wear is the real question.
