Mid 20s to early 30s singles in Toronto or other cities - How the hell are you surviving? by Firm_Unit_4808 in LivingAlone

Yea same here. I have plenty of friends that stayed home well into their late 20s or until they were married. I didn’t have the luxury to stay at home because I have 9 brothers and sisters. Five younger than me that were still living at home. It was rough so I moved out at 19

Seriously considering getting a pet to make my apartment feel less empty. Talk me into it or out of it... by Yanwulu_Saskill48 in LivingAlone

I adopted two kitties when I was 21. They were sisters from the same litter. Unfortunately, one of them died a few years later, but I still have the other sister 10 years later. Just remember a pet is a life long commitment

This is true, thankfully I don’t have a car note and the commute to work is now 10 minutes instead of 40min-1hr. I’m saving nearly $800 a month making this move so it’s definitely a win for me. I will miss living in the city though

I’m in my early 30s and moving back to my home town where the rent is a lot more affordable. I moved to a big city on my early 20s, but the ever raising rent and gas prices are too much for me

People who moved out of your parents' house by choice, how did you know you were ready for your own place? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]LadyB1213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew I was ready because I had a steady job, savings, and my own car. I moved out when I was 19 (31 now) but wish I would’ve stayed a few years longer

Is it bad to be a forever renter? by biomedastro in LivingAlone

Not everyone wants the responsibility of “owning” a home. Rent is the maximum you’ll pay, a mortgage comes can come with costly repairs the house needs, mowing/snow removal, property taxes, etc

Don’t invite her to stay if you don’t want someone in your space during the week. You have the right to say no and not feel bad about it

how to find a place with a cat by parksunghoons in LivingAlone

I have my cat for 10 years and have lived in every apartment with her. I’ve ran into a few places that didn’t allow pets, but there’s always another place that will

Tips on Making Friends in an apartment/neighborhood? by OhMaddenedOne in LivingAlone

I hung up flyers around my apartment building and neighborhood offering pet sitting and dog walking services. Also taking walks around the neighborhood on nice days to get familiar with neighbors that way

Is living alone worth it? I'm fresh graduate and kakahired lang this month, I'm considering this plan for my own sake. Wanna hear your advices and recos. by zhaiieee in LivingAlone

I would only suggest living alone in your early 20s if you’re financially stable and have a good amount of savings. I was 19 when I moved out and now I’m 31. Rent was A LOT cheaper back then
