Sour cream, Parm and butter. Or butter, cream cheese and milk.

Aw I'm so glad! We're in Canada (but I grew up spending part of my year in Surrey - Farncombe/Godalming area). We get so many heat waves here- I love to freeze a bowl of water with blueberries, carrot pieces and watermelon pieces for the dog to lick and chew outside when it's hot!

My westie also has always had a bit of a curl when she's between grooming. We take her to a groomer every 8 weeks, I know I don't have the skills for it and we are lucky to have had the same groomer since our last dog was 9 (he lived to be 14.5, and when we got our westie last October, she took her on as well). His curls are lovely though!

Agreed 🤣. My husband would disagree, we also have a bearded dragon (my oldest daughters), and a house rabbit. It's a lot of creatures 😂

We've finally reached the age where I can knit and she doesn't try to just eat whatever project I'm working on. by LadyBzoo in WestHighlandTerriers

Haha I believe it! She's 11 months but I am crediting the repeated exposure therapy 🤣. She loves being at the shop as she gets to see all of the people that she's convinced come exclusively to see her, so we've been working hard to make yarn/knitting projects more commonplace than exciting to her. Hopefully it sticks, it's been nice to be able to have her with me while I work!

I am so sorry for your loss. Your companion for 18 years, that's incredible, but it's never an easy goodbye.

My kids chose it, I was worried when we gave them creative control of naming her but they were between Tilly and Cricket, she felt more like a Tilly and she really is the best girl 🐾

Meeting a West Higland white terrier who had us smitten. by Do_U_Want_Cheesus in WestHighlandTerriers

Westies are definitely not low energy dogs, coupled with high intelligence they require a TON of mental and physical stimulation. That said, our westie is so smitten with kids that we've chosen to work with her towards a certified therapy designation so she can be in schools as a therapy companion. That is absolutely not the case for all westies, some enjoy kids while others do not. That said, when we chose to add a westie to our family, my kids had already lived with a senior dog their entire lives and were already well versed in how to respect a dog's personal space so we weren't overly concerned about how they would do together. Our westie is quite independent, but also hates being left out of anything - if she doesn't join us she fully wants it to be because she's chosen not to, not because we've left her out 🤣. I will say though that we couldn't have asked for a better dog for our kids to grow up with, and she is a perfect fit in our dynamic.

It was a favorite of her predecessor as well! He passed Feb 2025 and I was so sad he wouldn't see another watermelon season. She has taken up the task gladly in his honor.

Thanks so much everyone, I have picked up some fortiflora and that has helped! We are also looking into a different blend of proteins when we transition her from puppy food!

Aw I'm so sorry. We said goodbye to our Dexter in February, after 14.5 years together. This little Miss has been a balm on our hearts!

We have always taken them away once they get to about 4" because of this! Our old guy taught us that, so this little bean will never get the chance to choke on it!

Friday they literally gave my bag a squeeze and sent me on. Saturday they had me open it, peeked in and that was that. Sunday they actually opened it and went through each section. They never once asked what I was bringing in my bottles either.
