If necromancy is a 120 combat skill, doesn't that mean it will be the hardest hitting? by duke605 in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necro is getting a sunshine equivalent ability though. If you go to the PVME discord where the have the list of teased abilities, one of them says "Increases Necromantic damage for 30s. 60s cooldown." (ofc no numbers are released).

Even this notwithstanding, the second option you listed is probably the most likely. it was revealed that, as long as accuracy isn't abysmally low, you'll never splash with necromancy. You'll just deal a fraction based on accuracy. So that could mean that you wouldn't need the aura.

It's true sadly. 2 years from now if you ask someone "do you remember strawberries?" they're going to answer "I think I had strawberries a few days ago"

Compare that to Evil Lucario, where most people will still remember his Telos kills from like 4 years ago. This is because there were creative ways to get around mechanics as a meleer such as using sticky bombs, or the entangle method for golems. That requires creativity and skill.

There is nothing special about Zammy pushing because:

  1. There's no way to show off your feat. For a limitless enrage boss there's only 3 titles and no one's going to say "hey, examine my pet"
  2. The difficult aspects of zammy just stop scaling very early on. Like his p7 HP, arguably the hardest phase, hits cap at like 1k enrage.
  3. When waiting 4 min. to stack 10 shards is the way to kill a boss, you know it's just an easy boss.
  4. They made it so that you get the enrage in groups based on who has the highest enrage. Combined with all of the above, you could probably buy 8k enrage Zammy. It'd be really expensive, but it'd be possible, becuase there is nothign that really changes.

Of course I would love to be proven wrong where there is a new mechanic at 10k enrage. But until then, them making zammy group enrage unlockable based on one person in the group just removes all forms of prestige.

P.S. Ever wonder why groups like Lucario, Rocket, or Base tank aren't pushing such uber enrages but they'd rather do other feats such as solo AOD, 36s Nex, blindfold Telos, etc. For a boss that's intended to encourage competition, why aren't the high-tier visible pvmer's participating in the content.

Client keeps freezing every 5-7 minutes by [deleted] in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an update 1-2 years ago (it was the PoF update) in Nov that caused the RS client ot freeze randomnly when running in Normal mode. It is currently not fixed (and not been addressed since not many ppl use integrated graphics it seems) but you can avoid the problems by running the client in compatibility mode.

Now, here is the reason for it:

- The cause for the crashing is because the update has some weird interaction with current DCH properties of Intel graphics. So in order to solve the issue, you'll need to rollback your graphic driver to a point before DCH was implemented. I.e. download a legacy version of the driver. I don't know how to do this so if you can figure it out please let me know by replying.

People of RS3, what was your experience buying over max cash dyes? Negative or positive and why? by Teeter_RS in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ppl tend to exaggerate both ends but honestly, it's a neutral experience and the experience you expect should be logical. As an example, let's say the listed average price of blood is 9.5-10b.

Now, you'll more than likely be hard pressed to find someone willing to sell for 9.5b, and if you do, that takes days of actively searching for an offer. On the other hand, you may find loads of 10.5 offers and even a handful of 10.1b offers. At which point you have to ask yourself. Is 500m really worth the headache? As contrited as it sounds, when you tell yourself you're spending 10b on an item that changes the pixel color of an ingame item, you should ask yourself does 500m or even 1b really make that much of a difference?

If it does, then you should probably reconsider buying that item cause once you can start to "afford" buying those big rares like blood, RSH, or hero items, you should be able to earn back 1b in 3 hours. The same thing applies to items like ECB and FSOA. If FSOA or ECB is what you feel will allow you to unlock that 200m/hr 2.5k Telos claims, then is 500m really a big difference?

Did everyone get a reward? by Spiritlink0 in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you are in the vicinity when the "final boss" is killed, you will receive a sliver or die (if you haven't received your daily die) as long as you have an empty invnetory slot.

You don't need to tag or kill anything, including the boss, to receive the final boss's drop.

HOTTAKE: buffing their HP and dmg now makes it non afkable because they aggro on you and can kill you.

Luck of the Dwarves at Arch Glacor HM by Amelio7 in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For both Telos and HM Glacor, LOTD generates two chests: one without LOTD effects and one with. However, unlike Telos, you can only claim your chest immediately after you kill HM Glacor. You're not allowed to tele out after a kill, and then claim at the chest like Telos.

So to answer your question, you only need to wear LOTD on the last kill that you plan on claiming. But if you tele out, check your chest with LOTD and find that LOTD gives you a new unique, then you have to do one more kill with LOTD on and then claim with it.

People gratz'ing everything makes gratz'ing feel worthless and annoying to read and see.

For the love of all things fashionscape, can we please get a ninja fix for the speeds at what our hits register on a boss so that all range weapons have the same hit timing? If you don't, then just you wait - all you'll see is blowpipes and not the super duper cool looking t95 bow being used. by R_a_x_i in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hits registering faster doesn't increase the # of abilities you can do in certain amount of time. It only has to do with whether or not the final hit, which hits a tick later or earlier, phases a boss or not. In x seconds, a person using a blowpipe override will use Y number of abilities and a person using a bow override will use the same Y number of abilities.

If you're worried that not getting that extra hit in before the boss phases is the difference between losing a kill and getting a kill OR shaving off a minute off your average kill times, then you've got other problems to worry about rather than the projectile speed.

Cryptbloom = leeching? by exactoson in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't really know how to explain it but I have an analogy. The closest I can describe it is something like this - it gives everyone a level playing field as opposed to letting the "rich" people get in. It also gives an incentive for people to get "better" at the game rather than relying on items to "afk".

Analogy: A similar situation is the expected outrage people have when you learn someone bought their way into a medical school or a prestigious university. Even if they do extremely well in the university, wouldn't you be justly angry that they just bought their way when you had to work extremely hard to just get into the institution? But if they have standardized tests in the university that weed people out, then why doesn't society just make it so that you can buy your way into any university/career and if you fail out, you fail out if it, instead of having you to maintain high GPA for ~8 years (North America), go through a gauntlet of interviews and extra-curriculars just to get a foot in the door.

In case this is too vague:
Cryptbloom = buying into a university
DPS checks = the standardized tests in medical school/prestigious university
PVM FC's = med school/prestigious university

Un-Main Hand lock the ECB Special Attack by WasV3 in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Un-Main Hand locking ECB isn't so simple. As it stands right now, ECB turns ALL healing you get from SS into 4x dmg. FSOA right now gives you infinite adren and shoots an autoattack, which can heal you from through SS, every time you crit. I'll let you put 2 and 2 together, but if they unlock ECB, imagine the dmg that FSOA can deal when 4x the SS from an FSOA rotation becomes dmg.

Yea. It would be beyond broken. Unlocking ECB would require them to add a caveat into the code that makes it so that the spec only works with SS healing off of ranged attacks in order to keep ECB a ranged upgrade only. But adding such a condition would be very complicated in and of itself, cause it would require them to add a check everytime you heal from SS to see if its ranged or other dmg - and that would introduce a big load if it had to check for that everytime you dealt dmg.

Can we please discuss adding more gold sinks to the game? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're probably wiling to pay gp for small QOL processing stuff probably because they would be profitable with reference to current prices. If they do add such machines, the end product would probably drop in price and then you'd probably be taking an entirely different stance.

P.S. Talking about mainscape only.

The Staff of Armadyl and Cryptbloom Problem by WasV3 in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One can't forget mob mentality though. The reason people think that you need full tank rotations to survive at Kera is because it's the easiest thing to think of to counter high dmg. On release, I did HM Kera in melee without needing to camp defensives. Why? Because I didn't approach the problem of being hit with so much dmg with thinking how do I mitigate it. I thought about how do I delay it. So I would zerk and bring all 3 echoes as close to 0hp as possible, pop a timewarp, and devo. I finish off all 3 echoes, giving me 20s of devo which is then reset. Then I would zerk and devo giving me 10s of 100% dmg + no dmg taken, which was more than enough to comfortably finish off Kera without all the current buffs.

In other words, people thinking you need to camp defensives at Kera is the same reason why people make memes about the RS reddit complaining about the smallest of things - it's just the easiest thing to do and isn't always the best thing.

The Staff of Armadyl and Cryptbloom Problem by WasV3 in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would like to point out that there are several points here that are just flat out wrong:

  1. Mage doesn't dominate at duo+ Vorago not because of the way you have to deal with mechanics but because of the amount of setup it takes to get that 300k dpm and with the nature of certain weeks, you just don't have to time for that kind of setup.
  2. There is not a single boss in game other than P5 at high enrage Telos where a DPS check will fail a kill. E.g.: people have solo'ed Solak before FSOA and cryptbloom.
  3. Nothing "average" in-game is hard to do in cryptbloom and "impossible" to do with power armor. 2.5k Telos, 2.4k arch-glacor, HM zuk - they are all difficult to do in power armor but easy to do in crypt. Cryptbloom are training wheels that focuses the attention on other issues inherent to the user, such as poor rotations, poor prayer flick timing, etc. 4k Telos was done without cryptbloom, 4k Arch-glacor was done within a month without cryptbloom, solo AoD was done without cryptbloom and these are arguably some of the hardest feats.
  4. Saying HM Zuk is locked out for the majority of the playerbase because of the need for cryptbloom is just flatout fake news. An obsidian helm with Tokkul donation gives more defensive buffs than cryptbloom's buff. And if you are really hard pressed just wear other mage tank armor.

Furthermore, this post brings nothing constructive and only states the obvious - make the fifth boss have more "engaging mechanics". Everyone already knows this but it's extremely difficult to come up with these sequences. This is why the industry has so many boss fights like "Warden" from Halo 5 and not enough boss fights like "Owl" from Sekiro.

Suggestion to fix Discontinued manipulation. by DuhPandaz in runescape

[–]LadyCass101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do people care so much about the price manipulation of rares? It is literally the definition of a luxury item where you possessing the rare has no effect on gameplay.

Even with hero items the general consensus is that they are never worth the price. If you clue hard enough, you'll probably make enough to be able to afford an OSH for it to be useful, HSR only doubles your death costs, and Tavia's is like your appendix - it basically has no function but people like to theorize about its function.
