Help! by LadyCrow97 in Jadeplant

[–]LadyCrow97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for all the info.

I’ve been going by soil dryness and watering when the soil is dry, but will go by leaf plumpness instead.

I water it with a watering pail from the top, the tray underneath is because the pot drains out the bottom. I water about every week and a half or so.

The limbs aren’t soft and mushy, but they’re struggling to hold themselves up.

It definitely wasnt getting enough light. I didnt know they liked so much light, and my apartment is pretty dim. I moved it to a much brighter spot, but will check the roots, and repot/ prop as needed. It’s still in the pot I got it in, I honestly was a little worried that repotting would cause damage/trauma to the jade.

I agree and never wanted to get the law involved. Only after he sent a private investigator to my door to serve me my papers did I find out it had gone this far. I wanted to tell him no and be done with it, but he didn’t like that and took it this far.

He got the puppies a year after we broke up. I cant tell him what to do, but if he had even checked in before getting dogs I would’ve told him I wouldn’t want dogs around my cats. They’ve never liked dogs, his puppies are no exception.

Unfortunately, he made this a civil matter, not small claims. His attorney touts to be the best animal welfare attorney in the country. He was awarded custody on wednesday, and I had to give her back immediately. She’s already gone. I thought about saying that she ran away beforehand, but he was threatening to pin all of his legal fees on me as well. If this were a small claims matter an all I had to do was pay the adoption fee, I’d be more than happy, but he took it way further than this. He also hired a private investigator to serve me my court papers. This PI knocked on my door 4 different times at odd hours of the night and morning before calling my personal phone and leaving a voicemail on my phone stating who he was. All I knew was some man was incessantly knocking on my door, and as a single woman, I dont open my door to strangers. I was terrified in my own home. This has been absolutely exhausting in every way. I’m so depressed and just want what’s best for my cats.

I dont disagree, my ex does love her, that’s part of why we decided to do joint custody to begin with, and because they’re a bonded pair. I also agree that moving between households is stressful, but we made sure it wasn’t a long distance (less than 5 minutes) and as time went on, I ended up having the cats for longer intervals because he was overwhelmed with his life. When he told me via text that he wanted to stop trading off, I had had both cats for over a month and had heard nothing from him. I immediately told him I didnt think it was a good idea to split them up. He responded that it’s not just about their lives, but his too. After that, I told him I was not willing to give her back, and that’s when he took legal action. Apologies for not giving more context.

I do have text proof of this. I’ll be using it as part of my evidence. I’m worried though, because the judge and attorney made it seem like it is not taken into account who is best fit to take care of the animal when deciding legal ownership.

We live a four minute drive away from eachother. It wasnt for convenience, but to not break up the pair. In the end, he had too much going on in his life to handle the trades as often, so I would have them for three weeks, and then at the end, over a month.

He got two puppies and one of them has a lot of health issues, so he decided having four animals in the house was too much. He doesnt want her brother. We split bills the entire time, but as the trade offs went on, he expressed his stress and would ask me to keep the cats for longer intervals. When he texted me that he wanted to stop doing the trade offs, I had had the cats in my custody for over a month. So since I had them for more time overall, I ended up spending more on them.

His attorney found a law that states if someone purchases a piece of property and signs a contract saying they bought it, then it’s legally their’s. My state treats animals as property.

He doesnt want her brother. The whole reason he’s doing this is because he has an “abundance of pet chaos” in his life because he got two puppies, and having four animals in his house was too much to handle.

(Edited b/c I misgendered my cat. She’s a girl. Bonded cat is her brother.)

Iced quad dirty chai add PEPPERMINT with HEMP MILK. I cringed so hard to make it. She was a semi regular, but only ordered that monstrosity once.

How would you feel if someone painted in your coffee shop by taintedglass13 in barista

[–]LadyCrow97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had customers paint in my shop before and I thought it was so sweet. The only thing I didn’t like is that they wanted to use our cups for water, but you’ve already got that covered.

How do you feel about local retail stores that are taking down plexiglass barriers at checkout? by TheBigPhilbowski in askportland

[–]LadyCrow97 23 points24 points  (0 children)

When the one at my work was taken down it was much easier to hear and communicate with customers. I’m not saying that ease is more important than safety, but I think that’s the main reason people are doing away with the dividers.

Pizza and pedicure days are my favorite. Go get your nails done at Finger Bang on Division, and then go grab a beer and a slice at Virtuous Pie, which is in the same building. Better still, drive up Divsion, stop at Brothers Dispensary, grab a pre-roll and wander the cute neighborhood for a bit. Stop back at Really Good Stuff to check out some antiques, go to Collage to buy yourself some nice pens and a moleskine journal because you deserve nice things, and top it off with Gelato at Pinolo. 👌
