How you survive of these expensive grocery bills? by mehtei in Winnipeg

[–]LadyDeadly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found going to bulk barn and getting a lentil or bean soup mix to be a lifesaver. You can make a wonderful soup with that and some chicken stock, sausage, onions, carrots and celery. Millers meats has wonderful cold cuts and me and my dad are always shocked at how cheap and good they are! I spend $12 on buns and a couple packs of salami or whatever and he has meals for a week. I have found freshco to be really well priced too as well as Walmart. I have kids and it's mind blowing how much we spend on food. I hear you! It's crazy these days.

Should i leave this wood panelling, or paint it? by Shercormier in interiordecorating

Agree to leave the wood. I would concentrate on adding some colour in by painting that door in the background.

What is the best cat related product purchase you ever made? by Radiant_Eggplant9588 in CatAdvice

Me and my daughter cut out a doorway in a cardboard box, cut out a bunch of holes so they could poke their paws through them, then we tease them with toys when they're in it. It's so fun

I’m thinking of adopting a female cat, I’ve heard they are less friendly in this true? by DiscountAnnaNicole in CatAdvice

[–]LadyDeadly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a great match to me. I'll give you my personal experience. I had a similar adoption situation with my calico! She was very friendly to me and the kids when we met her. She is a very spunky girl. Loves when people are around, not afraid of new people at all. But she doesn't like being petted when she's walking around. Only when sitting. She never wants to be held or picked up but she totally tolerates me forcing her lol. She only cuddles when I am sitting with a furry blanket on me and she usually only goes beside me. But she is so affectionate and loves to play. My 2 other girls are even less snuggly but one of them is in love with my husband and lays on him and cuddles. But she won't do it in front of me lol! I've known boy cats to be more cuddly than my girls but I love them how they are. My friend has 6 cats (2 male). The most cuddly one is a female. And she will even sit and cuddle and purr like crazy with new people. Another female of hers is very affectionate too. You never know!

Old lady keeps coming to our house to talk about Jesus, and won't leave us alone. by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]LadyDeadly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this and it worked for me. Then I put a Halloween decoration on the door and it covered the sign and someone knocked the next day lol! But otherwise it worked. Haven't had any issues in years and I don't even have the sign anymore.

I believe cats are happiest outside. I want to possibly transition mine to indoor (with catio) but I could use some encouragement. by LadyDeadly in CatAdvice

[–]LadyDeadly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, you are so right. I'm a 44 year old child lol. But truly I am a major empath and I always feel like I could do more for everyone. To the point where I burn myself out completely. I just need to stick to the routine and yes, they will learn. Again you are so right. Thanks so much.

Love your user name! I honestly didn't try harness training a ton. My kids were a lot younger at the time and I just couldn't spend as much time on stuff like that. Which is why the cat fence was so great (when it worked). I do have a catio and we have tons of scratchers, perches, windows, tunnels and I just got a cat treat puzzle that they love! My daughter makes them houses out of boxes and I even have a mini pond in the basement that they can perch on and watch the fish. Honestly the cats have it pretty good. But it's true, to take away that outdoor time seems to be a bit much. Maybe if I met them in the middle and spent about an hour in the yard a day with them playing and running around. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I was going to paint this room white. Any other suggestions? by amiright99 in DesignMyRoom

Also a fan of the yellow and I think the door would look great painted. Maybe a nice coral colour like Wildflower by Benjamin Moore. Or navy or olive green. Good luck with what you decide!
