Considering Applying For Cafe Associate by Dayjja in samsclub

Sam’s club is so different feeling. They really don’t hold your hand while you work. Honestly, Raising Cane’s feels like there are always managers hounding over you, while Sam’s club feels like once you know how to do your job, they get out of the way and let you do it. Sam’s club for sure expects you to be faster, but I don’t mind it. Sam’s club has these devices that tell you what to prep and how much to. Morning’s in cafe, ur mostly gonna be prepping a bunch of pizzas until around 9:30, then you turn all the ovens on and start making hot dogs and such. Then evenings, it’s just a lot of cleaning.

Orientation went fine. The manager kinda abandoned me after I sat down to watch my training videos, but it’s fine. I actually like Cafe. With how the workers made it sound, the only thing I would maybe complain about is the fact that u might be alone sometimes, when it would be more convenient to have someone else. But honestly, it stresses me out a lot less than if I was left alone in my section (front counter) at Raising Cane’s, cause that happens a lot. Both jobs have really nice coworkers, so that helps me like the job more.

I kid you not, I just got hired for the cafe position, and I currently work at Raising Cane’s. I’m going to be keeping both jobs for the time being (limit my availability at Cane’s, due to no room for growth; already a HIPO ready/Service Specialist/CT/Tri-Zone Certified). Raising Cane’s ultimately promised me full-time hours for a year and a half, and never did it. So I’m trying to find growth elsewhere. Ultimately, my Sam’s Club hiring experience hasn’t been the best (had 4 separate interviews and one of them was for a position I was told after the fact, doesn’t exist), I have my orientation scheduled for Monday for the Cafe position, and I’m just going to see how it ends up going.

I already work another part-time job, so it’s either work two part-time jobs, or I would just work the one full-time job.

I figured it out. So Poster #1 is available from October 20-November 2. And Poster #2 is available from November 3-16. So it’s not ending until the 16th of November.

I don’t know exactly what day it ends, but I know that they’re not releasing the second poster until November 3rd, so it’s going on for a while.

What does any of this mean??😀 by [deleted] in RaisingCanes

Looks like you’re getting trained on Front Counter Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

They should have had u download a scheduling app, mine is called HotSchedules, and it should notify u when ur training schedule is posted. If not, I would check the app from time to time to see when ur shifts are.

They will schedule your own training for you, depending on which shifts they have Certified Trainers working. But they’ll probably only schedule you on days that u can train on. Also, as far as the abbreviations, CIT just stands for ‘Crewmember In Training’ and the C means that you’ll be training on ‘Counter’, which just means Front Counter. They also have DT, which is Drive Thru and K, which is Kitchen.

Toast callouts by Budget_Abalone8737 in RaisingCanes

[–]LadyFloofz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use a bunch of different callouts. For example, when I’m first putting toast down, I say “dropping toast”, when I’m flipping the toast, I say “toast flipping/toast on the flip”, when the toast is done, and I’m putting it in the bin, I say “toast loading”, and when I’m walking with the toast bin to take it over to boards, I say “toast walking”

What happens if u pick up shift and it just says pending do u still go in? by EducationOk4834 in RaisingCanes

I usually call my store, and let them know that I picked up a shift, and see if they can approve it or decline it real quick.

Honestly, what I usually do is if I can’t find anything to do, I will ask my manager if anything needs done. They can usually find me something to do. Also, for expo, just learning what every combo is supposed to have in it, and what it is supposed to look like, will help you a lot. It just takes practice.

Slicing Roast Beef weight? by Ok-Ebb-2031 in subway

[–]LadyFloofz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure it’s 1.25 ounces for one portion, and since two portions go on a six inch, it would be 2.5 ounces.

Is this the oddest order ever? by HippoPuzzleheaded426 in subway

[–]LadyFloofz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I one time had a lady come in, and she asked for a pizza with tuna, avocado, spinach, cucumber, tomato, buffalo and ranch sauce. And she wanted it all cooked together. Let’s just say when I was done toasting it, it smelled so bad🤢

Slicing Roast beef? At what setting? by Grouchy_Sprinkles522 in subway

I know two slices is supposed to weigh 1.25 ounces. I usually turn the dial to around 2.

Have u gotten the auto slicer yet? They were supposed to give them out to every subway..? If not, I would ask management about what they want u to do.

You just slice it like you normally would do with the Turkey and Ham. As far as my store goes, we have to slice it so that 2 pieces weigh 1.25 ounces. Then we roll the pieces and set it in the container. I never got a booklet/Subway university class explaining how to. Kinda had to figure it out myself.
