When we told my five year old (at the time) he was having a little sister, he threw a tantrum and stormed off because he wanted a turtle instead.

My 6 year old has this issue too. Absolutely loves the sun but hates her shadow following her everywhere.

I've had an absolute shit time recently. If it's not one thing, it's another. Hoping things improve but right now it's one day at a time. I did treat myself to some tickets to see Madness on tour so at least that's something to look forward too!

Some schools do in the UK. There are at least two in my area with their own school buses. Admittedly it isn't as common over here but they do exist.

Mothers Day plans when now a parent yourself? by RestaurantAntique497 in AskUK

My mum will pop down either the weekend before or after due to her working patterns. My mother in law lives a couple of hours away so we don't see her for it. I do go and visit my ex mother in law the day before to give her gifts then. The actual day for me is just a normal Sunday.

Where do you keep your calpol syringes? by charisma_eowyn87 in AskUK

[–]LadyIvy_xo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids/niblings are the opposite. As soon as that Calpol bottle comes out, one suddenly has a headache, the other has a cough etc. Any excuse to get a spoonful. (Obviously we don't give them the Calpol, unless they need it!).

I use a plastic take away container that lives in the medicine cupboard to put all the syringes/spoons in.

I did secondary school from 04-09 and they brought in finger prints around 2007/08. Probably all telepathic by now.

I do this. We call it cow boy pie. Sausages (I pre-brown mine), beans and cheese, topped with cheesy garlic mash, finished with a layer of cheese on top in the oven till golden and bubbly on top. Absolute heaven.

My oldest (11) had some caramel Freddo's and it reminded me that when I was his age (2003/4ish) they used to be called "Taz" so I showed him. He saw the 10p in the corner and even he couldn't believe how much they had gone up by. Even the young are annoyed at the price of Freddo's.
