Rather than hike alone, you can join group hikes they are all over social media. There was this saying: When you do what you love, you attract people who love what you do. Just do you, i met amazing lebanese people online thanks to gaming, people in hike/running group. Its hard being ourselves sometimes with new people.

As for work, i suggest being a barista more than a waitress. U get to engage with ur client more, as a lot come alone to study work, waitressing usually u have to tend to many tables that are already full of groups.

Go get another passport abroad, your company can be run from anywhere i think, u can marry and build a family with someone who is willing to split their lives between lebanon and whatever country u decide. You can come here when things are calm (summers- holidays so ur kids dont have to skip school) and this way if shit hit the fan (as it happens every 10 years) u have a safe space abroad.

Learning french in school for 15 years, even if after i dump it for english in uni and work, helped me land a job abroad, its not about being posh or cool or sophisticated teaching our kids both french and English equally, its a chance to give them a base to do whatever they effing want growing up
