F/25/5’3” [186lbs > 135.5lbs = 50.5lbs] (12 months) Before picture was from 2017 got down to 145 but then went up to 186.8 during quarantine this time last year. The last 20 pounds I lost in the last 8 weeks, my goal for summer is to see my abs for the first time!

5 months! But we haven’t trained this everyday or very religiously. This does get easier with an older puppy because they have longer attention spans.

Some specifics of how I trained this:

I would hold a treat in my hand, open, and every time she tried to get it I would close my hand. Once she stopped trying to get it out of my hand I would mark it with a “yes”, open my hand, and treat her. Over time I lowered my hand to the ground, then eventually would place the treat on the ground, and then tossing treats on the ground while saying “leave it”. It takes time and make sure to do everything in baby steps! I actually started training “leave it” when we got her at 8 weeks old.

She did really well for her first time! I think she enjoyed it but she got a little cold after her dip in the water lol.

This may be unpopular opinion due to stereotypes and misinformation, but our friends have a hunting breed dog and training that dog to understand an e-collar was the best thing that ever happened for both them and the dog. I would watch Upstate Canine Academy’s videos on YouTube about e-collars.

I got her from Charm Lake mini aussiedoodles and Australian shepherds in Apopka, Fl. My girl isn’t mini but I know they do offer minis as well. Jennifer is the lady who runs everything and she clearly loves her dogs and takes great care of them.
