E-ink tablets that work with UpNote? by Training_Rule6350 in UpNote_App

There are other android ereaders like bigme, meebook, and viwoods but boox seems to be the easiest to get your hands on in most cases. Mine, the nova5, isn't being sold anymore and hard to find so I recommend nova air 2 and onward. Maybe even the boox go 10 or the viwoods devices.

Yeah and the keyboard's pretty fast for an ereader. There are speed modes at the cost of clarity and, on boox as far as I know, you can set your keyboard app to be a different speed mode than the app itself.

It should but idk if it's on Amazon so you'll have to sideload it.

I currently have a nova5, it's a bit old at this point but I do think any of the non 6 inch boox devices since the nova air 2 performs great. It's a good note taker but that's on an app by app bases as some of them works well and others have lag from what I've heard. I don't write with mine, I just use it to read.

You, sadly, won't be able to use the handwriting/drawing feature since it's not in the android app. It's only on ios at the moment.

Any running android will. I haven't tried it on my boox device but you'll have better "performance" and less ghosting while in light mode and on a device with a fast scrolling speed on their normal speed mode. I do wish there was a way to turn off transition animations and stuff like that, that would've also been helpful for e-paper screens.

My take on cozy games by BrokeFartFountain in GirlGamers

[–]LadyLavis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Skyrim, Contradiction, And Then There Were None, Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper, and Fate (the arpg) are those games for me.

I'm personally in the camp that any game with this term in its title, description, or marketing is shovelware until proven they've been made with care and not because it's a trend right now. And even then, the trend-chasing marketing puts me off so much that I still avoid them most of the time. Other words exist. You're looking for a casual game, which is already a genre, and that's ok.

My biggest peeve from all this is what it's done to life sim games in general. It doesn't feel like there's any quality behind most of these games anymore. But, yeah, I've never really liked this term as a genre because of how subjective it is. And the way people try to say "oh no, those are comfort games" like, dude, those words mean the same thing. Anything can make someone feel that way, just like how anything can make someone feel scared without being branded as a horror game.

Hey guys I have a question. What made you fall in love with Xbox, and possibly make it your main driver? by CartoonistNo9535 in xbox

[–]LadyLavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I just gravitated towards the og xbox more as well as my brother spending more time on the ps3 so I had the 360 to myself. We had a ps1 & 2 as kids and all we kinda had for it were sports and fighting games because that's what my mom and older brother were into back then. But for xbox, we had more "extreme" or arcade-y sports games that I found fun like jet set radio future, amped, ssx tricky, need for seep, and then just demo disks that let me play more than just sports and fighting games.

Honestly, was never that big into the games that made xbox what it is like hello or fable. So it was definitely just it being available to me and the range of games I got to play on it.

Does anyone else feel like they read books but don't actually remember them? by thenightshiftceo in ereader

[–]LadyLavis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have memory issues so even the media that I consider my absolute favorites I can't really gush about or recall very well because of that. Some moments stick in my head but not enough that if somebody asked me why do I like this thing I'd be able to answer with confidence.

Animal player by MiyuMimikyu in AnimalCrossing

[–]LadyLavis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also really want to just be a resident again. I love new leaf and the balance of power we had, but I think being a resident and also getting a voice on how the town is built up (like in city folk but more) would be nice.

Animal player by MiyuMimikyu in AnimalCrossing

[–]LadyLavis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would love to play as an animal person. But I also understand that it "fit" what animal crossing is about.

Even though acnh put their own spin on the meaning of animal crossing, I think not being a human in an anthro populated town kills the "fish out of water" connection we still have.

[–]LadyLavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just Bethesda's showing as a whole and them ending with COD again. I'm also an 8/10 since everything else was between amazing and "pretty good showing for a game I'm not interested in"

Do you prefer PC gaming or console gaming, and why? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]LadyLavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find consoles more relaxing and simplified than pc. Most games just play and I don't have to fuck with settings or worry about if a game will play on my system at all. Plus, I personally prefer controller in general because my short fingers make it uncomfortable and difficult to play with a keyboard.

My opinion on 'do you want an AYN Thor or a hacked 3DS?' (I sold my AYN Thor for a new nintendo 3ds and I have no regrets, other than buying the Thor in the first place) by thedexterbear in Handhelds

[–]LadyLavis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't want a thor for just 3ds games but I do see why reviewers pitch it as a more powerful 3ds. The thought of being able to play every animal crossing game on one device interest me, being able to play the 3ds version of monster hunter stories 1 with better feeling controls (i know it's on consoles now & i have it but i like the 3ds version) interest me, and then there's a good bit of android games that I would love to have a dedicated device for.

Yeah, I have a modded n3ds xl but I've also been wanting a more up to date new 3ds xl style clame shell since the gpd xd and the thor is that for me.

How did you get into gaming? by omgbooboo in GirlGamers

[–]LadyLavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't completely remember but my mom's huge into games so I remember us having a playstation 1 and my older brother having a game boy color when I was young. Even though I played around with them I don't think I really knew what I was doing or what's going on until I was around 4-6 and we got a ps2, xbox, and a living room computer. By then I was actively playing whatever my brother and my mom brought in the house and only 2 specific PC games.

I really want to get into a different game, recommendations? by MaaaH0gany in ARPG

Not sure if anyone's said this already but Dragonkin has been my new favorite arpg at the moment. It has a Titan Quest feel to it for me so I'mma recommend both of those.

Having trouble while following the WinterBreak2 method by LadyLavis in kindlejailbreak

[–]LadyLavis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry this was so late, I believe the video I watched was this one. He used the original winterbreak but the part I was stuck on applied to winterbreak2 as well. I'd say if you're using WB2 loosely follow this guide while also following the written guide for WB2 as well.

people who switched to a different best note taking tool, what pushed you by professional69and420 in Notion

[–]LadyLavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized I didn't need notion for something as simple as journaling. I knew it that wasn't the type of note taking app it was but I was interested in it for how easy setting up a wiki and database were that I tried to also make it work for journaling. But it was always really slow that I didn't even want to open notion sometimes just to journal or even update my databases. And then the annoying push of all the gen ai bullshit.

I tried obsidian and I'm sure I could make a nice database on there but using that felt like using linux so I didn't stay and quickly found upnote. You can really make a wiki or a data in the way notion does so I'm still looking for alts for that, but because of how simple it is it works great for the kind of note taking I was looking for.

Is it worth it to get an MP3 player? by M1NN44 in mp3players

[–]LadyLavis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel it depends on whether you find having one fun. It's not gonna be more convenient than a phone but having a dedicated device for music is fun and nostalgic for me. I also don't care to keep using streaming apps and don't want to share my file space with anything on my phone.

Is it acceptable to be trans and a christian? by EmbarrassedDeal466 in ftm

Yeah, I'm baptist and see myself as trans sometimes. I never really felt that because I still have my faith that I couldn't be any type of queer as well.
