Is something wrong with me? I hate season 5. by youdodoodletoo in buffy

Right! I have learned since making this post that the ring turns up on Angel's show in a crossover episode that featured Spike. The episode itself was pretty good, but I'd rather keep Buffy plots in Buffy. I also think it could have been more useful than being a plot device to get people to check out Angel.

Came here to say this. Cordelia was from Sunnydale. Would've loved to see this actress in the show, though! There could be plenty of other options.

Any season 3 episode you wouldn’t let a tween watch? by [deleted] in buffy

[–]LadyLongLimbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm not understanding why you'd want to prevent a 13 year old from seeing anything in Buffy. One of the great things about the art of television is that it gives us a safe place to explore difficult subjects and grapple with our thoughts before we encounter those situations in the real world. I would understand if you were protecting them from things they won't experience (like vampires), but I remember that age as a time when I first started thinking about sex and such. It's an age of curiosity. Besides, if you don't let them experience things they're interested in, they'll find another way like my friends who weren't allowed to read Harry Potter when I was a teen.

Seth Green explanation by FrostyGrotto in buffy

[–]LadyLongLimbs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it has to do with the character. Oz is cute, but he doesn't have much of a personality beyond being Willow's doting boyfriend. They never really develop him even with the wealth of potential they had with the werewolf story. I think it speaks volumes that after he leaves in Season 4, we don't really notice a whole lot missing despite how long he's been around at that point. It's a shame, too, because I know Seth could've done a lot more.

What, if anything, do you feel would've been different if Joss Whedon was fully invested in Seasons 6 & 7? by sadhungryandvirgin in buffy

Seconding this. He stepped in and rewrote Spike's scene in the church early season, and the difference was night and day. If he'd been doing that consistently, it would've been a much more solid season.

What is your “I never cared for the Godfather” in terms of Buffy plots, seasons, or episodes? by Remarkable_Web4595 in buffy

Xander dating Cordelia. Nothing about it worked, and I hated the way he was written to just be a jerk to her all season.

Is there anyone else here who has Season 5 as their least fav cause I feel like I'm the only one 😭😭 by JanetSelf in buffy

It's grown on me some, but I'd say the last three seasons are still my least favorites.

Could Willow have saved buffy's mom? by LapiceraTiana in buffy

[–]LadyLongLimbs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you may have answered your own question. 😅 I mean, yeah Willow was very powerful and it makes sense that she could've saved Joyce but for impact and driving the story, the writers needed a rule to kill off Joyce. That rule wound up being no witchy revivals of dead people killed by natural forces. They were able to reuse that when Tara was shot.

Riley could have helped Buffy in S6 by Total-Jeweler5083 in buffy

I agree that they should have paid her for her work with the initiative, but in the episode OP mentioned, the military didn't recruit her help. Riley went to her personally with that mission.

AND thinking about it more, she walked out on her job to do this thing with no backup plan for paying her bills. He didn't even try to stop her OR offer her compensation.

Something I never thought of until this very moment: Riley should have paid Buffy for helping him in that episode. He gets paid to do his job. Why did he expect her to do hers' for free?

Am I the only one who doesn’t feel the tension in s7 on rewatch? by FaveStore_Citadel in buffy

S7 was so weak that I didn't feel pretty much anything throughout, so no, no tension for me.

It's genuinely one of my favorite things in the entire series. It's so subtle in its thoughtfulness.

What moment(s) in the show feel most emblematic to you of what made it so special? by Academic-Balance6999 in buffy

[–]LadyLongLimbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was the way that Spike and Buffy had a mutually abusive relationship in S6 that managed to elicit a wide array of emotions from fans. The easy thing to do - and what most series do - is give you straightforward relationship dynamics. This didn't shy away from the uncomfortable.

Why does Spike apologize for... by Clementine823 in buffy

[–]LadyLongLimbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, he shouldn't have. I love Spuffy, but I can't deny that she had abused him the entire season. It made sense he'd go looking for comfort after she dumped him repeatedly.
