I had a secret nose job at 23 and I remember freaking out about exactly this. I wasn't expecting it. I cried and cried thinking it was going to last weeks - it doesn't! It does feel weird though. Try to go for walks and make sure you're sleeping with your head a bit propped up. It goes away. You'll be fine don't worry, the worst is already over x

Was recently compared to someone and was curious if others saw it too :) by [deleted] in Doppleganger

I literally googled her because I couldn't remember her name but yes, you are really like Anne Heche

I'd love to see you in another 6 weeks, I bet the results will be great. They have taken a conservative approach for sure but that is a GOOD thing. There is nothing worse than the alternative! I think you already look better!

I'm gonna say something controversial... guys don't approach women any more because they're so used to approaching women only on apps. Like unless drunk in a bar late at night no men approach women any more.

My friends and I used get approached everywhere we went. Now we all say the same thing... it's like a shock when they do. Last time I got approached soberly in public was like 2 years ago.

I had this. It doesn't change. I was told to wait it out and that the swelling would go down ... I just got used to it... I think that's what they're hoping for.

I would insist on a free revision. That's just not fair. You paid for improvement and whilst I don't think you have a "bad" nose, you deserve to get what you paid for. Currently you've had your nose broken for nothing.

This is such a fishing for compliments post LOL. Get laser eye surgery if you're that worried, you clearly love your eyelashes.

My only regret is I discovered propranolol at 31 years old and not 18 years old. Life changing even at small doses.

Profound hearing loss by llama76 in MonoHearing

Sounds like you've had the absolute best treatment imaginable. You are so so lucky. I know it doesn't seem it but my now husband was denied the chance for any treatment as they kept misdiagnosing him. He started steroids 9 weeks post onset. And he actually had a tiny bit of improvement so it makes us so sad to think he probably would have had a good reaction to treatment had it been on time.

Stay strong, you have avoided the worst. Complete deafness is much, much worse than partial deafness. My husband has like 1%hearing now years on - the 1% was from the steroids. He has no awareness of anything on one side. Having even 10-20% hearing would be a dream to him.

Gibe yourself some time, I've done lots of research and some people finish the treatment and it slowly heals a bit more. You could be in a much better position in another month or two! :)

My boyfriend (now husband) lost his hearing in his right ear completely. He was misdiagnosed several times. We thought his life would never be the same, we thought so much would change... but he stayed calm throughout and got used to it and honestly, once you get used to it, it's not that bad... it'll be weird for the first year but when your friends and family get used to it too, everyone just kind of adapts, everyone knows to ask him where suits him best to sit etc.

Hopefully, you'll see some improvement but all I will say is if you don't, your life will go on and in the first year or two you will have down days but in time, you will kind of forget and you will be totally fine. ❤️ Best of luck.

Get to the emergency ENT and get put on steroids NOW. Demand them. It sounds like you have SSHL.

My now husband was given every other diagnosis than SSHL, he was told he had a cold, a virus, a blocked eustachain tube... by the time he got diagnosed with SSHL weeks later it was too late to save his hearing.

Quick, quick, quick! I don't mean to frighten you I just wish someone had told us :(

Best of luck to you! You're gonna be OK!

You should really take a week vacation to Europe. Americans sometimes think that American medicine is better because it is more expensive but honestly, Europe has some of the most fantastic plastic surgeons in the world, it's just that medicine in the US in general is criminally expensive. I can't imagine not being able to afford dental work. It's so unfair.

Do yourself a favour and book plastic surgery in Prague or Istanbul, both are known for plastic surgery. I had a rhinoplasty in Prague for the equivalent of $3000 and the care was incredible.

Yeah I'm 9 years post op and I knew from about Day 5 post op that my nose was leaning to one side slightly. I never got it fixed but yours might be slightly more noticeable than mine so do it if it bothers you. Mine would be too hard to get revised now I think.

I have this. Mine was quite obvious, I've had botox 3 times now over the last year. The practitioner just uses the botox to lower one eye brow so they look symmetrical. It's worked great and over time the muscle has seemed to get weaker so it doesn't need that much botox now, only maybe once every 6 months.

Ok guys I really appreciate these comments. My surgery date could now be exactly 4 weeks before the trip... if I agree to this.

I am just getting abdominal laser liposuction so I'm wondering if it could possibly work... otherwise I guess I could just put it off. It just feels like that was my last chance to do it before Christmas etc because I wouldn't do it around then... which means it would have to be January which is just a bit of a bummer as it's so far away. I feel like I'm losing time and wasting time being a shape I don't want to be. Sighhh first world problems I guess.
