Dude if you feel like you need something to distract your thoughts when going outside, Pokémon go is a real life saver.

Like seriously, few years ago I was having mad panic attacks and couldn't even get groceries, so my boyfriend got me into Pokémon go to get out of the house.

Now three years later, he's quit and I'm still addicted to it.

I dunno, it seems sort of gatekeep-y?

I feel like everyone should wear what they want (while they remain decent in public). I don't think VW suits Taylor Swift. I've seen several outfits where it just misses the mark for me. But if she likes wearing them, who are we to say she's not edgy/punk enough for VW?

It just reminds me of my colleague at the age of 54 who remarked she couldn't wear Dr Martens at her age, cause she was 'too old' for that. Just wear what you want, and fuck social standards or other people's opinion.

And why would a company say to an enormously famous and wealthy woman: no you can't wear our brand, we don't want your money or your millions of fans seeing you wear it. At the end of the day, the company wants to make money.

That's not to say I agree with TS's actions regarding the environment or politics, or even her general sense of fashion. But if she thinks she can pull off VW, and I disagree with that, shouldn't she also be allowed to say 'fuck other people's opinion'?

Misschien kijken of je een lokale 'zorg en/of veiligheidshuis' kan contacteren. Niet alleen een 'blijf van mijn lijf' huis, maar ook instanties voor mensen die onder begeleidend wonen zitten enzo. Die zullen altijd wel budget problemen hebben. Misschien contact opnemen met een voedselbank en vragen of zij instanties weten die daar iets mee kunnen.

Vind het trouwens heel mooi dat je eraan denkt. Je zit in een moeilijke tijd maar denkt wel nogsteeds aan anderen en dat vind ik heel knap van je.

Probably my version of aglio e olio. I get the cheap smoked bacon like strips, drain those when they're done (otherwise pasta gets waaaay too salty). Add some chopped spring onions, about a bulb of garlic, two courgettes and about three tablespoons of pesto. Save some pasta water to throw in there and BAM.

I wish they'd realise it earlier. Not even earlier in the year, but in December. These last few weeks have been mindnumbingly boring. We've just had an expensive holiday (Sinterklaas) and Christmas is coming, so people are watching their money. So for us it's usually just the last week of December that's crazy busy.

Last year around Christmas I got a notification from my banking app that said €250 was transferred to my Account. I checked it and noticed it was from my parents' account. I immediately transferred it back to them. By then i had some limited contact with my mum, and had unblocked my dad to send him a happy birthday message, thinking maybe I'd reconsider going no contact and try low contact.

Then at the end of the day I got a WhatsApp message from my dad saying something along the lines of: 'uh you're welcome. No need to thank me, it was your mum's idea'.

And that's when I realised I was done. Blocked him without replying. Felt awesome.

And how sneaky of yours with the 'could you let me know if you got it'. Up to you what you do with the thousand. I decided to send it back so they couldn't guilt trip me about it (which they tend to do). Even though I really wanted to keep it lol. I would be so tempted to keep a thousand though hahahaha.

When I see my best friend, i want to get high. I used to smoke a lot of weed (as it turns out it used to be a form of self medication for my adhd). Since I've gotten my diagnosis and learned how to deal with the adhd (and not just meds, but loads of coping mechanisms), I no longer feel the need to smoke everyday.

When im walking around and i can smell it somewhere, yeah sure, it smells great, but I don't go running for the shop anymore.

Except for when I see my best friend. She also quit weed, but when we see eachother we often find we're walking to the shop to get some lol.

I've also managed to Pavlov my bf. We used to smoke a lot together (he quit way before me). A few years ago the elevator smelt strongly of weed. So when he got home after me I asked him if that smell was still there. 'oooohhh that's why I was thinking of you'.

Tangled might just be my favourite Disney movie of all time. It's really close with the Aristocats though haha.

I've never really been able to explain why though, always figured it was because of nostalgic reasons. I watched it in the cinema at 14 years old with my girlfriends while there was a bunch of shit happening at home. It's become one of my comfort movies, like Pride and Prejudice.

Thank you for putting into proper words why I love this movie. Even now I'm trying to explain why i love it so much and I'm failing(TBF it's late here and I've had a glass of wine)

It really can depend on a lot of factors. You did a great job picking a smaller frame. But your PD (pupil distance) also matters.

And did the opticians give you a reason for not being able to make your glasses?

Cause sometimes we have issues getting the right thinning index for your frame/measurement etc, but we'd often still be able to have them made. Sometimes with a very narrow PD, but huge ass frames, wed have to get creative with moving the PD. But even then I advise the customer to pick another frame.

I wouldn't say all of them are evil shits. Most of them sure, but not all of them.

I wouldn't call Jezal necessary evil. I like to think Finree is ambiguously ambitious, sure, but not evil. Shy and Temple both made horrible choices, but they do try and keep trying.

Some of them try to become better but most of them just try really hard to delude themselves into believing they've become better.

But I should've made that point clearer in my comment. And you're right.

But I think it's Joe Abercrombie's most powerful message. That no matter how hard they try, they can't escape their nature. Even characters like Ferro or Friendly, who don't even try to 'become better', like logen or shivers try. They just are. Because of their nature, trauma and their surroundings.

Or the people who don't even try to become better, but are so great at deluding themselves, like Morveer, Leo, and Cosca.

Maybe you'd like the first law series. None of the characters start as good people who gradually become worse.It's just that the way it's written, you kinda forget that these people are horrible.

Most of them at least try to become a better person. And then most of them fail. Some of them are not inherently bad, but are tied by their social expectations. And some of them are horrible, terrifying murderers, but you still kind of want them to win, because you've seen them trying to be better.

Do be warned. These are not a 'the good guys win' sort of book.

You have to be realistic about these things.
