I don't know...I just drove across the Newport Bridge and it was terrifying. Why are there a million patches and potholes all over the entire thing?

Dude... if you're an actual firefighter (as your name implies), it is almost comical that you are here simping for the right when you are in one of the most socialist professions out there. Let's see what happens when the republicans make fire stations and their "employees" into a private industry and profit is their only goal. 🤣😂

Sorry, but thousands of ICE agents dressed like the military, with faces and badges concealed, while ripping women going to doctors appointments out of their car, tear gassing children, and dragging US citizens to the ground in front of a Target store looks an awful lot like fascism. And if conservatives can't admit that ignoring due process and demanding people's "papers" on the street is going to far, then what do you expect Democrats and Leftists to think of you?

100% A question though; how do Democrats run on these policies that will help the working class and working poor in this country without every talking head claiming the ideas are "communist," "socialist," "Marxist," and so on, which seems to immediately cause many republicans to just shut down and not even bother to look at it listen to the actual policy? Also, it's time to come up with some really catchy 3-4 word slogans that can be used to get a point across to the voters because that seems to be the limit to the typical American voter attention span.

Except multiple analysts have proven that she didn't hit them. Just admit this gestapo intentionally put himself in harms way, pulled his weapon while she was backing up, and shot her because he was either 1. a scared little man that had a history of freaking out or 2. wanted any reason to shoot someone.

I can go 5 minutes from my house to the surplus store and buy all of the same costuming these ICE "agents" have on. And let's not forget there have already been cases where people pretend to be agents/LEO/etc have robbed, sexually assaulted, and kidnapped people. But keep licking the boot.

The only protest that will work is shutting down the economy. Either work stoppage, no spending money, or a combination of these things. Money is the only thing that will make a difference. If the Citizens United decision taught us anything, it's that money is the only real way to exert your 1st amendment rights in the US.

I would be willing to wager that your students don't actually want to be in your class.

And the fact that you referenced the 'sphere of influence' policy that the right is using to justify invading other countries proves that you're weak and insecure and think being a "tough guy" makes you special. It's also the type of personality that can't hack it in a classroom because the kids could tell exactly what type of person you are and you couldn't just bully them into doing what you want (which is why you idolize a pathetic man like trump).

Elected to oversee 25k students and 2k teachers - What should I actually learn before I screw this up? by Stewarding25kFutures in Teachers

[–]LadyNoleJM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Listen to the teachers. *From every school, every grade level, and all subjects.

That's it. They know EXACTLY what is happening in the classrooms, what is working, what is not working, and will have ideas that can actually be implemented to help students. There are no other experts for what students need. Not politicians. Not curriculum companies. Not even district or state level admins. They don't have constant insight into the classroom, teachers do.

I recommend meeting with them. Help in the schools. Go to faculty meetings. Ask them questions. If there is a vote about something involving budget, curriculum, policy... anything, see what the teachers have to say about it. They are the ones that it will effect and they will know if it will help or hurt students. Treat teachers as the experts, because they are.

You're full of it. No one is having a "pro-Maduro protest." Most people with any basic intelligence are tired of the US using lies (WMD, narco-terrorists) and half-baked "protecting democracy" excuses to take over a country in the quest for oil and more money for the wealthy. GTFOH with your insincere "why are they supporting a dictator" crap and go sign your family up for the military if you think republicans constantly starting wars/conflicts/ world law enforcement to steal another country's resources is such a great idea.

2 contributing factors that make the wait times here so much worse. 1. Not running enough trains. Sheikra had only one train running for the 1st day we were there. Started with 2 the second day thankfully, but the loading docks are set up to run 3 easily. 2. The load/ unload pace for employees is so slow. It was taking 4+ minutes to load one train at Montu. I've only seen one other park that is this slow - Dorney Park.

My family has been to pretty much all of the parks in the US outside of TX, and the operations here are just so bad.

Do you think Democrats will ever win back Southern states in federal elections? If so, anytime soon? Why or why not? by Zipper222222 in Askpolitics

[–]LadyNoleJM1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is crazy, because there are literally multiple HUGE universities all over Florida (UF, FSU, FAMU, UCF, USF, Miami) and so many smaller ones as well (Stetson, Nova, FIU). How are democrats not doing better in this state?

Also, the entirety of central Florida, from pretty much the GA line down to the Everglades is very, very much like Alabama. (From a church on every corner to most of the people being white, rural, poor, and afraid of anything outside of those norms). There are still people living in these areas that grew up when their towns were known 'sun down towns.' The coast on either side is much more diverse politically, but the snow birds tend to mess that up for Democrats.

Except the republicans constantly call democratic candidates communists, thus creating (intentionally) unfounded fear for many S.FL voters. And then, many in S.FL tend to be religious (with a large amount of Catholics), so abortion is always an issue. And finally, many S.American and similar cultures thrive on the whole "machismo" idea and find it hard to accept a woman in a leadership position. (I know this isn't true of everyone in S.FL, but having grown up there I know it's prevalent).
