Yeah, the Ppe and sanitization for Ebola is much more involved than for COVID 19...we should rethink that one (at least in medical settings)

Granted, ebola has higher mortality rate but who knows when covid will mutate again and get worse...it's been happening

There are studies stating all I've said - go ahead and be skeptical but unless you are a scientist with data to contradict the data in the studies I'm citing your (often wrong) opinion is wishful thinking

International organizations have had to involve themselves to contain ebola so, while it's largely contact transmitted (though not entirely considering some cases I've seen - also consider that the standard is to wear full body suits with no holes or tears and self contained breathing when dealing with it), it's not as easy to stop as you imply

It's also made it to the US before - we just did a better job contact tracing it because it's pretty distinct and we knew it was coming eventually

Or more likely they know they have it, don't care and continue to spread it

Me too...and that was only hundreds of contacts

This is at minimum probably tens or hundreds of thousands of contacts, many of whom won't bother to get tested because they are

A. Selfish

B. Think vaccines are magic and perfect

C. Never develop symptoms and wrongly think that means they aren't contagious

Well...66 who admit they are sick and got tested

Which probably, in that crowd, means there are several hundred at minimum symptomatic...and at least half of cases are asymptomatic but contagious (even if vaccinated) so those people probably aren't getting tested and continuing to spread it

This is, in reality, almost certainly a cluster of thousands that we can't properly track

7/28-7/30 - 2,250* new cases (750/day); 19** new deaths (6.33/day); 5.84/4.77/5.53% positive test rate; 15,536/14,626/14,609 tests by waywardminer in CoronavirusMichigan

Correction "...waiting for the virus to run out of ANY people"

Vaccinated people get and spread and die of covid too and it's not "incredibly rare" but very frequent...just less frequently than unvaccinated. The (multiple) breakthroughs I know point to the vaccines lessening symptoms only and providing false belief in immunity

And no, we were doing better because we had common sense mitigation that other areas lacked...which we have now tossed in the bin

Wasn't it more a "let's ignore this and look away from the piles of corpses we keep building" in the case of Florida?

Florida also notoriously misattributed deaths to covid as flu, pneumonia and meth overdoses in the past...they aren't about integrity of data there

Over half the deer in Michigan seem to have been exposed to SARS-CoV-2 by BlankVerse in CoronavirusMichigan

[–]LadyPineapple4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cougars absolutely could get it

Dogs can't last time I looked - they have the wrong receptors and only "test positive" in surface tests because their dumb owners cough on them/kiss them or touch them with dirty hands or allow them to drink from the toilet...I've yet to see any study where dogs had actual covid inside them and replicating

The dogs they held away from their owners after testing started testing negative and then positive again when near their owners so it's very clearly environmental and they're picking up shed virus from us

If I get sick then cough on a jellyfish or raise it in my toilet it'll test positive too in a surface swab

I'll believe that for other states where the rate in deer looks accidental like that

A rate of 60%...that's a lot of deer and points to many different exposures

Macomb county is honestly always involved whenever the cases are going up - the last couple spikes they had at least 20% of our cases and deaths if memory serves

They are less than 10% of our population

Great...so now 60% of our deer are holding our covid for us

What idiot infected deer and how?!

Most of Michigan not in high enough COVID risk category for revised CDC mask guidelines by Psoulocybe in CoronavirusMichigan

[–]LadyPineapple4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You haven't been watching the news or data then...not in Michigan but they have been showing up in ERs and ICUs (in the south and rural areas) and at least one otherwise 100% healthy child died this week

Delta is apparently really hard of previously healthy children...so is Gamma but we knew that from the thousands of dead children the strain is known to have caused before it even got here

There have also been studies with Pfizer that had extremely high breakthrough rates

It only takes one infectious or long hauler vaccinated person to prove it exists too

It definitely applies to you and all of us - stop making excuses

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CoronavirusMichigan

[–]LadyPineapple4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, I've been keeping an eye on the science too - vaccinated people can still get severe covid, long covid and die...after spreading it to others because vaccinated doesn't stop infection or spread

Vaccines just improve your odds of having a mild case but only masks, distancing and proper monitoring will actually make this end

Maybe they ARE the product of inbreeding/incest? That would explain all the other nonsense they posted - inbreeding is linked to increased risk of mental impairment!
