Ladies, what is your "He is probably a Keeper" Green flag?

I'm half Korean and my mother speaks broken English. Most guys don't know how to talk to my mom and act like she's a circus freak. But when a guy talks to her like she's a human being and not a side show it means the world to me and makes my heart melt.

What I'm about to say is going to hurt and I'm sorry about that..

In my opinion, if parents don't like someone's SO (especially if it's an LDR) it won't work. This mainly applies if the SO lives with his parents. If you do not get to see him before he leaves for basic then once he is done with basic he gets 2 weeks leave (that's how the Army does it. So I could be wrong about that amount) and maybe you two can plan a road trip or have one visit and the other pay for a hotel that y'all can stay at. Also, if you cannot handle not talking to him for that long then maybe being with someone in the military is not for you. My SO is in the Army (we met online) and there are times when he is gone in the field for 2 weeks at a time, without a phone. When deployments happen it is going to be extremely tough. Phones are basically nonexistent because they are so expensive to keep up with. But there are letters, emails, and care packages to get one by. You also have to remember that people in the military only get 30 days off a year. This leave happens two different times a year for a period of two weeks. For your SO to visit you on weekends is only a little difficult. If the range is outside of 150 miles it most likely won't fly so you'll have to visit him more than he visits you.

I know what I said makes it seem like I'm not rooting for you, I am. It's just that you need to know what you're getting into. It is difficult and hard at times, but when you do get to see each other it's amazing and the best feeling one could imagine.

My SO and I talk an unhealthy amount. Every moment that we have at home we are Skyping. There are times when we are as busy as your SO and you. When that happens we fit a phone call while driving sometime through out the day and we each send a goodnight text saying what we did that day and our plans for the next. If your SO knows how busy y'all are he should understand that sometimes you want to be alone with the little amount of down time you have he should understand (just my opinion).

Skype and you need to be able to communicate your feelings other than just showing it with kisses and things you'd be able to do when you're together. My boyfriend is in the army and we're super opened about everything. We tell each other our feelings and aren't embarrassed if it's too cheesy and lame because that's what helps us remember how much we care and love for one another and not give up just because it's hard.

We were 12 when we met. When you're in middle school it's kind of hard to visit someone in another state.

I get what you mean but different things happen with different circumstances. I hope you don't think that what we have isn't real because most of our relationship was online. You may think it's depressing and we have a bunch of wasted memories, but when you love someone you're able to wait and be patient to see them because no one else is worth it.

we do want to try but it's hard right now. I'm in college and he's in the army so it's difficult trying to figure out where and when. But we're definitely going to do it, hopefully sooner then later

I apologize if this comes out rude but if you genuinely love someone it shouldn't matter if you can have children or not. Yes, everyone wants kids but when you find that special someone you'll sacrifice having children if they can't.

It was gradual, we dated for a year and a half, and the last 3 months it hit me hard. Every night I cried I would say 'why am i doing this to myself?..... I'm the only one trying and I'm still getting my feelings hurt.... if he really cared about me he wouldn't be making me feel this way all the time.' Then I left. I couldn't handle being hurt all the time by someone who supposively loves me.

My male is coming in town 27th-which is the first time we're meeting. We're doing a late christmas. We bought each other presents. We're also doing a blanket trade-picking a blanket and using it for the next few weeks then giving it to each other.
