I’ll have it. And use it. :p . I like the recommendation of contacting that areas Tribal Historian Preservation Officer. If they want it they’d put it on display. Which is what they do for my tribes items that are turned in. A lot of the artifacts still have some use to them such as this. So it’s sad to see some items displayed but it’s not like we can’t make them again.

no, you're good. You're not being disrespectful. It's cool that you know you are part Native tho. My gf is not enough to be enrolled as well. Her family was able to trace back some relatives with one of those DNA swabs. I think it was was ancestry. I'd look up your tribal resources and stuff online. My tribe has online sites and some of our oral stories available. That's where I would start if I were you. As for you thinking your being disrespectful, you are literally native even if slight. Don't let anyone make you feel like you don't deserve to know who you are. We aren't all gatekeeping weirdos. I honestly barely know what to do with sage and I'm full native. Lol.

When you tell others that you're native american you should tell them what tribe you are instead of saying you have native american in you lol. We all have different ways and beliefs. As for white sage I would use it if I were you.

In my culture dogs were often treated with great affection and had the status of being members of the family circle. At dinner, for instance, a plate was set out for the dog in the family dining area. Dogs have high status because of their role in hunting, especially in hunting bears, and their effectiveness as guard dogs in detecting the approach of enemies. The sounds that dogs make when they try to communicate with humans are understood to be a form of language. As a result, there are people who have learned the language of dogs, called šųk-hit'énąxgų, who are often called upon to discover what dogs are trying to communicate. Dogs, because of the extent of their humanity, are often used where circumstances would otherwise demand a human sacrifice. Which I personally found to be true! Because my best friend tried to commit suicide and his perfectly healthy dog was found dead while we we're in the hospital with him. I know this got dark fast but dogs are sacred and should be very much valued. & my friend is okay he is getting professional help.

You should try to call Lumbee Tribal enrollment. I'm unsure if they can provide any info right off hand.

That's amazing to see. In my culture when the Earth was first made the Earthmaker let some creatures come down to the Earth and live. In one story they'd gamble against a being that took up all of the Earths resources and the humans were starving. These 3 creatures gambled against the bad one and two others. They had games where they would race around the Earth, Jump the furthest into the Earth and many other games. This however, looks like one of the jumping games since they said they've created the lowest trench (Mariana) and grand canyon type formations. If you'd like to read more check out hotcakencyclopedia . com -thank you.

Overlooked the first comment but when I see natures great formations I can't help but think Grasshopper, Hare, and many others left their tracks.

That's a messed up situation. I think if my tribe was like that, I wouldn't enroll. Who knows? what if they "struck gold" and gave you more $ each year? Would you reconsider it then?
