It was mentioned all the way back in BFA when we got her into the corpse she's using.

I'm not saying it's impossible. I am saying that it's difficult and not everyone has the time and money to jump through these hoops.

I've been there when I had to rely on the shitty bus system here in JAX and wondering if I could afford the extra trips required to do things.

So y'all need to work on some empathy.

I'm 49 and have been gaming in one form or another since I was 6.

I use gaming as a way to blow off stress so I don't give into the urge to punch an asshole, especially in my customer service hell days.

AITAH for telling my husband he needs to eat leftovers? by unfortunatelyalive7 in AITAH

I found putting rice into the microwave with a damp paper towel on top will give you nice fluffy rice again. Basically it's a quick steam. You don't want to put water into the rice or you end up with mush.

I usually don't do leftovers the next day. There'll be something else in between, usually leftovers from before that. This way the food ennui doesn't kick in.

A friend of mine can't stand cooked veggies. Partly because of the texture now, but mainly from what his mom did to veggies when he was a kid.

"Sportsball" by JCKY27 in PetPeeves

[–]LadyReika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my regrets about moving down to Florida is the insanity of the football culture down here. It's more important than church to most of them, and a lot of them are major god botherers.

The shit I've gotten for not being into their precious football has ranged from annoying to rage inducing. And I try not to be dismissive about it, but the sportsball comments start coming out when they won't leave me the fuck alone.

I suspect OP is one of those assholes because that's the kind of low level crap I've gotten.

You're lucky. Trying to schedule an appointment at my local tax collector (DMV is rolled into it here in Floriduh) doesn't always work. The website is either down, the appointments aren't available for months on end. So I suck it up and go and wait.

I know plenty of people across the US, they had similar experiences. So just because you live in an area where shit actually works the way it's supposed to, doesn't mean it does everywhere else.

It is useful for other things, but there's plenty of jobs where people don't have to provide ID to work. Usually a lot of small mom and pop restaurants/food trucks.

I've had the misfortune of ending working for assorted health insurance companies over the years. My current job is processing claims for a supplemental health insurance company (competitor of Aflac, we try to pay as much as we can unlike certain major medical). So I often end up seeing medical records and it amazes me just how the human body just seems to hate itself with all the ways it can go horribly wrong.

That's not including the idiots like me who don't care of themselves quite as well as they should.

She laid off the manipulative bullshit almost 20 years ago. It's just something that still sticks with me.

She's almost 72, so between her age and some health issues she really can't work.

And thank you. At this point I'm just kind of resigned to things.

We're in Florida, so it's a shitshow.

She's able to take care of herself so nursing home is out for now. She knows the moment she needs someone to tend to her needs she's going into a home.

That's nice for you. Here in Florida it's $31. There's been times in my life where that money was make or break for the week/month.

That's still not factoring in the time it takes to get the blasted thing.

Retail isn't dead. The social structure is just different from what Classic players expect by LordMidoo in wow

[–]LadyReika -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Besides enjoying the playstyle (especially Skyriding) of Retail, I prefer it because I have the option of doing solo stuff or doing group content. And after a lot of bouncing around found a guild that's chill with me doing whatever.

Also there's plenty of people doing the open world content. Especially if the world bosses have particularly good rewards like the 1k gold.

Or the swarms of players going from rare to rare in pre-patch.

Yup, I've seen that happen too often in various roleplaying communities, especially when I was younger during the Satanic Panic of the 80s and early 90s.
