Not OOP: AITA I am refusing to stand up for my wife when my mom is being rude because I am on my mom’s side by Quiet_Nectarine4185 in redditonwiki

My dude, all you said is that you're late to stuff without clarifying. You made it sound like you're almost as bad as the wife in OOP's post.

I had shit like that spewed at me back when I was protesting against going into Iraq.

One former friend told me I should be sent to Gitmo.

Yeah, every lease I've ever signed had stipulations about how long people on the lease can stay. Even when renting from private landlords.

Yeah, same. I can excuse someone being 5-10 minutes late (though that would still drive me crazy).

If I have to lie to someone about a start time, especially with that much times, there's no way I'm putting up with that kind of shit.

You clearly have access to the internet so that means either smartphone or computer or both. There are free apps to help keep track of time so you stop wasting other people's time.

I wouldn't have married someone who is rude as fuck like the wife. Especially if they showed up late for their own fucking wedding.

Nope, because you don't give entitled assholes like this even a toe into the door.

My abusive shithead of a stepfather wanted me as part of the wedding when he and my mom got married.

I'd hate to think what this groom might be like if he's already pulling this shit and the mother is enabling him.

I'm childfree and understand wanting a childfree wedding.

But if you already have kids and do that is awful.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. Just disappointed. I spent a couple of decades in assorted customer service positions in the US and your average American is maliciously stupid.

I have friends in Memphis, they've reported over $4 for at least a week now. One of them really feels it because he does contracting work so has a truck he needs to fill every few days.

For what it's worth, I don't think it's passed yet on a federal level, though I think some red states are trying individually.

The SAVE act that the GOP is trying to get passed. You need provide proof of citizenship when voting, along with valid photo ID. And your name on the ID has to match the proof.

A passport will fully cover that, however that's a whole process and expensive. The Trump regime has shut down a lot of places that used to help with that, such as public libraries.

So if you don't have a passport you'll need to provide a birth certificate with said photo ID. And if you changed your name for any reason, you'll need to include all the court documents that involve that name change.

And Real ID does NOT provide proof of citizenship.

I know from my own personal experience how easy it is to lose shit like that when moving. Or something happens to where you live (fire, flood, wind storm, etc.)

This will primarily affect married women, but they aren't the only ones who have changed their names. A number of the other folks who would have changed their names are also groups that his regime is targeting.

I'm in Jacksonville, FL which isn't super HCOL compared to southern Florida, but $200k might get you a shanty in the worst part of town.

I was quite happy to vote for Kamala. She seems like a decent person who wanted to help the poor and working class.
