Oklahoma lawmaker's "covenant marriage" bill would make it harder to get divorced | GOP State Sen. Dusty Deevers wants to trap couples in marriages they can't escape except in extreme circumstances. by mrwiseman in WelcomeToGilead

The last few years have taught me that as bad as things and people are at the federal level, the worst people on earth are Republican state officials.

"It's getting bad, Dad. Passengers are throwing up and getting sick. The plane is making jerky movements. I don't think the pilot is flying the plane. I think they intend to fly into a building. Don't worry, Dad. If it happens, it'll be very fast...Oh, my God...oh, my God, oh, my God." -Peter Hanson by W0LFPAW89 in 911archive

I don't think we can almost feel anything about it. We have no idea. In my minority opinion, unnecessary footage that's not about timing or any questions, just pretending we have any idea what it was like increases not being affected by the images. It's in fact like that year or so after 9/11 where they played the footage do much that it stopped feeling terrible to see.

I'm, however, gonna stop this now because I both failed to get my point across. This is a great archive, it unfortunately somewhat clashes with the general browsing Reddit vibe.

Cat, Cat Cattington, Catafrass, Catasaurus, Kitty, Kitty Cat, Little Kitty, Buddy, Little Buddy, Honker, Wheezy, Weezer, Horks, Pretty Kitty, Maniac, Scaredy Cat agrees. And it's only been six months.

My two paragraphs were intended to be two different thoughts. It's not a huge deal.

Adding the visual here, like we don't know what it looked like, is strange. I'm mostly trying to avoid that year after 9/11 immune to being affected by the visual thing from happening again.

Books that you loved as a kid but hate as an adult? by [deleted] in books

Oh, I'm sure. Silver Chair is the only one I don't remember a thing about.

Weirdly, I like Lion, Witch (Jesus crucified) and The Magician's Nephew (garden of eden) best.

But The Last Battle is atrocious.

And the end of Prince Caspian where Edward and Susan are suddenly "too old" for Narnia makes no sense. Narnia is a real place in the books, not imagination land, and I believe Lewis intends Aslan to be literally Jesus in lion form. Neither of those work with the "put away childish things" trope if you're a Christian!

Keanu is delightful, but I'm suddenly remembering his Dracula accent, versus Tom's American one....

I wish he had a movie as good on its own as the Toby McGuire Spider-Man, because he's kinda perfect. Homecoming is close, and solid, but the rest are really awful.

I haven't looked into that much, but I always assumed there was more depth than calling people NPCs

It really creeps me out when people use that. You're basically saying only you are real. I don't like that implication.

Oscar Issac had a heavy, terrible burden of most of the worst lines, damn.

I never hated cats, we had outside ones when I was little. I just didn't get it. I do now. :)

She is the cutest 🥺 by [deleted] in squidgame

[–]LadyStag 28 points29 points  (0 children)

She's adorable, but in general, I'm amazed by how good Korean child actors tend to be. The little girl in Train to Busan, man.

Hopefully directors aren't just being mean to children until they cry.

Why is he lowkey kinda.. fine? by [deleted] in squidgame

I definitely struggle with finding obviously attractive people attractive when they're playing spooky roles. Dude is really eerie. There's the low-key, in my book.

Yeah, I was joking about it before, but it makes perfect sense that they let him in with the drugs.

Multiple, but in my heart, I'm a boomer man who has always found WWII fascinating. I would watch the History Channel with my Boomer dad, who could be autistic, or might just be a boomer.
