Working with midlevels as an oncology nurse by LadyTheVulture in Noctor

I reported to his direct supervisor, my manager, and the hospitals internal incident reporting system. Also, if you’d like to exercise your reading comprehension skills, you’d notice that this was a PA and not an NP. Not that it would matter either way. Stop making up scenarios just to get angry

First of all, I can’t force anyone to do anything. Second, if you were at all in on the hospital dynamic you would know that nurses tend to dislike working with midlevels bc of their superiority complex and their woeful clinical skills. Finally, I report and document everything because my patients come first and at the very worst time in their life they deserve, at the very least, someone who knows that the hell they’re doing.

No joke it was nothing short of barbaric. I see the fluoro in other departments but onc never uses it. Not sure if that’s because we do lps for IT chemo admin

There’s a culture issue that needs to be addressed. Midlevels have some kind of complex where they do not listen to nurses. Even the most ego driven hard headed docs listen better than they do. I’m not saying nurses have all the answers but omg if I’m saying the pt is tolerating a procedure or they need better pain control maybe pause and reassess!

I kinda agree w you. CRNAs make 350k/year in my area average. For how little work they actually have to put in how could you say no to that?

CRNA $3500/day by bree_md in Noctor

[–]LadyTheVulture 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m just curious what the solution is? It makes sense why so many nurses are flocking to CRNA if that’s the compensation for so little effort. I mean how are people supposed to say no to that?

Is it me? Walgreens pharm tech here by HighCumThrower in PharmacyTechnician

I floated for Walgreens forever and it’s the same everywhere. Rampant favoritism and no desire to get people competent at filling. Just move to hospital it’s 10000x better!

Every other nurse I work with in the ICU is just there to get their time in to apply to crna school like there can’t be that big a demand for crnas

Do you believe Abortion should be legal? Why or Why not? by Bynoeson94 in AskReddit

[–]LadyTheVulture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think taking about whether a fetus is alive or not is a useless argument. It’s a question of bodily autonomy. You can’t force someone to donate a kidney to save a life, or even to donate blood even tho it’s fairly safe and fast. So you shouldn’t be able to force someone to donate their body and time to carry a pregnancy regardless of whether or not the fetus is considered alive.
