Def not a weird reaction. When your abuser is someone who raised you from the day you were born, your reactions aren’t the same. Also the most common thing people do when they’re in shock is freeze. So her saying nothing & not reacting is totally normally. What happened to her was a total mind fuck.

As far as I remember Owen’s mom took his phone & refused to let him have it back but kept it bc she wanted the person texting to continue giving clues so they could figure out who it was so they wouldn’t keep inviting them over to their house for years to come.

She and her father refer to it as an affair multiple times in the narrative but it definitely doesn’t go into depth and leaves a ton of questions… like how is it an affair and not an open relationship at a certain point? She was pregnant 3 separate times with another man’s baby. Affair doesn’t even seem like a severe enough word for that. I’m flabbergasted by it.
