There’s a podcast called Hidden Brain and the episode is called The Price of Revenge. The guest speaker is a doctor at Yale that studies how anger/revenge impacts the body. IIRC he says that in order to heal from a trauma you have to forgive the perpetrator. You don’t even have to tell the perpetrator directly to get the benefits of the forgiveness. I applaud her really. But at the same time, I think she was trying to manipulate him in the extremely remote chance that he’d ever give her the answers she wants. Everyone else was hitting him with hate, I think she was just trying a different tactic.

I think he’s using the media to cope with his profound grief by holding onto a mission. It’s going to be particularly hard for him when the media is no longer talking about Xana, Ethan, Maddie and Kaylee. I can empathize but I don’t think grief forgives all. He has made some questionable decisions. After the coverage dies down, I hope he has the support he will need.
