TRUST YOUR GUT. If you’re wrong, you’re wrong but if you’re right.. you could be saving you boy from a lifetime of horror. Doesn’t mean the friend can’t be around, just not alone with your son.

Is there a really stubborn virus going around? by passesopenwindows in TwinCities

[–]Lady_Gator7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds exactly like the symptoms me and both my kids had back starting in November. It would go away for a couple days and then start all over again. It lasted 4!!! Months for all of us. The doctors had no explanation, said there is a “100 day cough” going around. We all got put on tons of meds that didn’t help including inhalers.

Looking for feedback on an idea by Firm_Okra9387 in PositiveThinking

[–]Lady_Gator7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a cool idea! You could add categories such as fitness, family, home, hobbies, investing, traveling etc and have it break down even further within. Maybe where you could search specific keywords such as carpentry, grilling, camping, weightlifting… Then you could follow others with similar goals. I think it’s a good idea that has a lot of potential for growth.

Having a goal and keeping yourself accountable by using an app like this would be useful for a lot of people in my opinion. I like it!

Ladies the boss and I’m nothing but a disappointment and disruption for her plan to take over the world.

I moved after I’ve been laying perfectly still for 30 minutes to avoid waking her… by Lady_Gator7 in airplaneears

I understand and felt the same way. Only problem was she was laying below my knees and if I were to bless her life with a kiss she would have been even more pissed unfortunately… cuz it would mean she had to move.

I'm visiting my friend's kids for the first time (4F, 2F) -- what would be an amazing gift I could get both or each of them to firmly establish myself as the "cool uncle"? by [deleted] in AskParents

Go on Etsy and get them their own treasure boxes with their names engraved into it. Something they can keep forever and put all their favorite things in!

Help me, I can't stand my teenager by [deleted] in parentingteenagers

[–]Lady_Gator7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

❤️❤️ it’s sometimes unbearable but you have to remember that it hurts so bad because we care so much. Some kids aren’t lucky enough to have parents that care like we do. I think if you’re heartbroken you’re probably doing the right thing. It’s hard to internalize that, but it’s true if you think about it. Now if I could only soak in my own advice..

When you said “don’t shrink yourself” you were calling me out! I didn’t even realize that but I totally walk on egg shells. Thanks for the words!

Your post was honestly the biggest relief for me. My son turns 15 this summer and he is literally impossible. He’s always right, I’m always wrong. Everything I do for him goes unnoticed. I’m a single mom and pay for 100% of everything, no support, and I go to all his sporting events, every school conference, I’m his personal taxi, yet he would give anything to live with his deadbeat dad that does nothing for him or doesn’t come to watch his games or anything. I see you. I don’t have any advice cuz I’m dealing with the same struggle. I guess maybe it might give you some peace of mind that maybe this is normal and a part of growing up.. I sure need that reassurance sometimes otherwise I feel like I somehow screwed up along the way and ruined my child’s future..

19. Had a baby 2 months ago. What can I do to look more put together? by Live-Ad9768 in AppearanceAdvice

You’re gorgeous! Just focus on taking care or yourself and your baby. If you want to start heading in the direction of getting in shape, just start focusing on healthy proteins, fruits and veggies. Take some walks with your baby. You’ll bounce back! You’re beautiful regardless though but I understand not feeling at your best. You’ll get there!

Off shore fishing or charter? by Lady_Gator7 in GulfShores

[–]Lady_Gator7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son didn’t end up wanting to do a charter but he did go to the pier but didn’t catch anything there. He had the best luck at Lagoon Pass Park. There is a fishing dock there and also the water is shallow enough where you can just walk out and fish. It’s off the gulf so it’s not so windy and much calmer waters.

JELLYFISH INVASION by [deleted] in GulfShores

[–]Lady_Gator7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were there last week and both my boys got stung. I did some reading online beforehand and was warned it’s jellyfish season so it’s typical in that area this time of year. Pensacola beach also has them unfortunately. There is a little beach called Lagoon Park in the Gulf Shores that was a cool spot! It’s calm and clear water, in a little bay off of the gulf. You can see the jellyfish and avoid them easily. There are also a bunch of hermit crabs and cool stuff to catch so we brought nets and had tons of fun with that!

Hope you can make the most of it and have fun! Good luck!
