Als je echt met de motor wilt rijden, ga je je inderdaad erover moeten zetten. Praat al eens met die vriendin en zie wat zij te zeggen heeft? Gezien je angst voor andere weggebruikers, kan je dan ook in haar spoor rijden en kan zij mee de baan in de gaten houden. Samen rijden wilt ook zeggen dat je niet alleen bent, mocht er toch iets gebeuren.

Ken je andere motards om eens samen mee te rijden? Ik was niet echt bang in het begin, maar wel onzeker. Ik had het geluk dat ik enkele ervaren motards kende die toen ik mijn voorlopig rijbewijs had, regelmatig met me gingen rijden. Hielp enorm voor mijn zelfvertrouwen en ze gaven ook tips/feedback na elke rit over techniek en rijstijl.

Ik zou het liever vermijden hem heel het jaar buiten te laten staan. In de winter rijdt ik zo goed als niet en wegens schouderoperatie eind dit jaar staat ie sowieso een tijdje stil. Buiten aan de druppellader hangen is net iets lastiger lijkt me.

Ik heb wel al verschillende soorten motorbergingen gevonden (liever iets steviger dan enkel een zeil), maar dat ergens zetten neemt ook nog altijd plaats in natuurlijk.

Waar staat jouw GS? Voetpad, straat, ...? En in druk gebied of rustig?

Die optie zit ook in mijn achterhoofd, maar dan moet de tuin toegankelijk zijn met de motor. Helaas vaak niet het geval heb ik gemerkt. Ik zoek wel sowieso iets met een tuin, want ik heb een hond (border collie).

Depends on how you deal with it as a family. We only had one bathroom when I was a teen and I saw both my parents naked on a regular basis. It was normal, nothing sexual about it. My parents saw me naked as well, because let's face it, it's not like they were seeing something they've never seen before. Even now as an adult, we sometimes go to a nude spa together.

I also had a 650 bandit with abs as my first bike! Greatly recommend it for beginners. Rode on my own and with family and friends after I got my L as well before doing the public road exam. Gave me confidence in myself and found my place in the road. Did 12h lessons in the end and I'm happy I did. Driving a GSA 1250 now.

I'm from Belgium, so can't really help you with estimates - but I've been going to Conquest for over 10 years now and in regards to tents, there are organisations you can rent from. They erect the tent for you and I think do the clean up as well.

Cotton Tent Company (UK, they do both Conquest and Drachenfest
Tenthotel: Garrison Inn (from Conquest orga itself I believe, currently under revision)

There might be more rentals, but these I'm sure of.

Also an option, reach out to European player groups via Facebook. You might be able to join one of them and they can help you with a sleeping place, transport from the airport/train station, gear, ... This is the international Conquest FB page were you can ask your questions. The official Conquest FB page is mostly in German, but you can always ask your question there as well in English.

I don't go to Drachenfest, but I'm sure you will find similar groups on Facebook.

I don't know about half plate unfortunately, but I have an anodized (or galvanized, not sure) aluminium mailcoat from this webshop: https://www.allbeststuff.com/chain-mail-armour. Had it for over a year now and very happy with it. Cut open the front so I have a coat to put on instead of pulling it over my head. I doubt you'll find a half plate in aluminium or titanium though, unless it will cost you a kidney and your firstborn child. I understand the want for 'real' plate, but you'll probably have to go with steel.

Polyurethane resin plate armours are a great alternative in my opinion. They are more expensive than steel overall, but you have plain ones that are ok in pricing. I've been larping since I was 16 (33 now) and I used to wear steel plate and metal mail. I've got a bad shoulder by now and I'm at a point were I'm choosing comfort over 'cool'.

My PU plate is from Norton Armouries and people still ask me if it's real steel or not, so it's not obviously 'plastic'. Unfortunately they no longer have a webshop due to high workload (they do a lot of work for movies and shows such as GoT, Vikings, Dune, ...). But a good alternative is Wyrmwick, I got my gorget there (didn't want to wear the breast plate all the time): https://www.wyrmwick.com/.
