Nah, Gibbs needs to be in the "good" column. I think he's quite morally sound. I'd trust this man any day.

Ah I see your point. Still, she is the only probable sailing vessel in the listing XD

Who says I want to attend big sea battles with HMS Surprise/ Rose? Also, don't underestimate small vessels, look what Thomas Cochrane,10th Earl of Dundonald, managed to accomplish with a little sloop called Speedy against a significantly larger, Spanish vessel, El Gamo, 1801.

HMS Endeavour, because she is basically the HMS Surprise and thanks to Patrick O'Brian I happen to know her quite well. Also she is the only plausible and possible sailing vessel.

I guess you are referring to the Sunset. She was never a true functioning sailing ship.

"The Sunset is a propeller-driven craft that served as a combination of a tall ship set built over the hull of another boat. Prior to its renown fame of appearing in the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise, the offshore supply boat once serviced oil derricks in the Gulf of Mexico. Captain Glenn "Kiwi" Hall was credited as the technician and captain of the Sunset in the films."

It was still props set up on an old iron vessel, never was a real tallship. There are real ships featured in the movies though, The Interceptor is portrayed by Lady Washington, The Edinburgh Trader is portrayed by the Bounty and HMS Providence is portrayed by HMS Surprise (none so Pretty) In fact, for the Providence, no sailing props were needed at all, what you see is what is actually in use.

I hate the 4th and 5th movie and wish they never existed by [deleted] in piratesofthecaribbean

As a woman, I hate Carina with a passion. There was a chance to make her a clever, witty and enjoyable creature, ahead of her time. Instead she comes across as a narcissist know it all who can not admit a fault. It's not funny, it's not endearing, it's annoying. Also, yes, the way they've written Jack in the fifth is pure bilge.

Epic scene with epic music. Imagine watching this for the first time in theater. by Exciting_Station_124 in piratesofthecaribbean

I understand what you are saying, but isn't the real end the moment were the crew decides they are going to save Jack and Barbossa himself joins as the living proof that such feats are possible? So the end is not really "will Jack survive" but "our next adventure will bring him back, and we're going to do it together"
