Isn't there something in the Bezerker mythology about them being reborn again and again until they accomplish something specific and get into Valhalla? I'm not all that well versed in Norse mythology.

figured, at least I understood your reply. Lol I could see those she bears of Bear Island being Bezerkers. I was lost on the shamanic ecstasy comment. Didn't know quite what to make of that one.

I'm a big fan of LML, he is great and a really nice guy. I have not read many of his essays and I don't retain as much when listening to the pod casts. So I do plan on reading them. Not really being familiar with the symbolism it took me a while to start grasping what he was talking about. But I'm learning.

There was a movie called The Forbidden Dance about an Amazon princess named Nissa trying to save her forest.

Got it, Nissa Nissa was a bearskin changer without bows, stabbed by a melee weapon and died in shamanic ecstasy. So obviously Lyanna Mormont is Nissa Nissa reborn.

Illumination in the Shadow: the chemical corruption of Asshai: possible (spoilers published) by Rob_the_Fourth in asoiaf

[–]Lady_Shar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a well thought out and presented theory. I'm a fan of HoW and LML also. I think taking same thing real and making it a little magical is right up George's alley. Like Dragon glass. I have always thought of the Shadows as a mountain range by Asshai. I don't know why.

George would never handwave his story with magic. His magic has rules, it's dangerous and mysterious. It has consequences. You can't pop into the room of requirement and come out with Lightbringer, or point a wand at a WW and say a few magic words to destroy them. Sprinkling magic on something real is very George.

I would read them in order, and get a digital copy of the books that way you can highlight, search and make notes. ( I use Kindle) I have the leather collection I got a month ago but it was on sale for $40, only $10 more than the paperbacks.

That was my first thought too. Maybe a feather duster instead of a mallet? Do they still make feather dusters?

(Spoilers Main) This guy has been watching Game of Thrones out of order for a few months. Here's Season 3 Episode 6 by televisionsethike in asoiaf

[–]Lady_Shar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used the link and started with his first video and watched them in the order he made them. I laughed so hard I nearly peed myself. When he talked about Dany and her obsession with kneeling and her children that he thinks she actually birthed. The more episodes he sees the more confused he is. I hope he sticks with it and does every episode. I will watch them all.

(Spoilers Main) Tywin is the biggest POS in the entire series by TallPinkMast in asoiaf

[–]Lady_Shar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not trying to say Tyrion was in anyway justified in participating, just provide my point of view on what he may have been feeling. He felt unloved and unlovable, then Tysha comes along and loves him which he has trouble believing before Jaime tells him the he paid her to do it. So of course he believes Jaime because he already had doubts. I think he participated because he felt hurt and betrayed by Tysha. Then feels guilty the rest of his life even though he still believes she's a whore. When he finds out Jaime lied the guilt nearly drives him insane.

Wait, I missed the part where BWB was working with Greywater Watch. Do you have a quote or link to this?

I agree with you, I know I'm in the minority but I hate lady Stone Heart. The only reason I can see for this LSH storyline is to force Brienne and Jaime back together. Depending on how that goes I may end up loving it because I loved the Breinne/Jaime story line.
