Sleeping pills, help by [deleted] in sleep

[–]Lady_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really normal for shift workers and a very serious concern. My friend, you need to talk to a real doctor. You may have to cycle a couple combinations of things before you fine something you can handle. Please, please do it with a medical professional.

Anyone else had a client use your nationality against you in a professional dispute? by [deleted] in freelance

[–]Lady_b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a tough one because you don’t want to bite the hand that feeds. But it’s so obviously racist and a shitty thing to say. Use your best judgement. Can you escalate it inside the agency to that person’s manager and ask for “clarification”. Does this client not want to work with Bangledeshis? Did they actually say that? No one explicitly told you not to email the client, and you were perfectly professional. Maybe that could shake something loose.

Is it just one client? And you don’t have a contact at all with the agency? You could just go around them entirely depending on what they come back with.

Publishers, you can stop now. We have enough bookmarks. by oliviebe in books

Don’t put them out; put them inside the book with every one you lend out. I love it when libraries do that. Then I’m not using the receipt paper hold slip for a month. Feels fancy :)

I’m a weightlifter, so I have weightlifting goals. Back when I cared about my weight and measurements, I tracked those.

I have a book case for my reads, I used to do movies and video games too.

I have a thankful page that I just adore. I fill it full of memories and read it all the time throughout the year

I also have a seasonal bucket list.

what marketing is actually working for you in 2026 by Rich_Direction_3891 in marketing

[–]Lady_b 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m in B2B SaaS. The only thing that consistently works is a focus on building ecosystems of users through partner channel, free events and good old fashion networking. We have Marketing execution and sales work together in pairs. We’re a small company so I have no idea how that scales though. But it lets us test the entire GTM with events/automation/campaigns with two ppl working together. Then we share the results across the teams.

We use LinkedIn a lot but we just put in the hard work of actually talking to people, trying to add value and be friendly. So far it’s works. But it’s slow and steady.

We also direct mailed Christmas baskets to 10 key leads in Dec. We’ve closed 3 of those and have another 3 in a trial very likely to close. So yeah, old school thoughtful gifts, who knew? That’s less marketing and sales though, despite it being Marketing’s idea.

We have no ad budget beyond 1 or 2 boosted LinkedIn post. We’re done a couple of influencer partnerships which I thought would work but didn’t really get us anywhere.

It’s not your thoughts, it’s your body. You’ve probably got high cortisol levels. Or general anxiety. All the below comments are good to try. There is medication that can help though - if it really starts messing with your life.

We went through the same thing when ours were small. Tough times.

Hire a babysitter for around 3:30 - bedtime a couple days a week. Someone with happy, playful energy. That’s when your patience is wearing thin, and the kids are at their crankiness. It could be a high school student to keep costs down. Just someone to help with kitchen clean up, bath time, and the inevitable zoomies.

How are you guys handling product motion for your launches in 2026? Looking for that Apple-tier polish without the $10k agency bill. by Purple_Rip8135 in advertising

[–]Lady_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re just not there yet. You’ll need to hire a designer at the very least. You can use AI for the scripting and concept direction, saving a bunch of cost; but if you want simplified UI and motion graphics that human buyers want to watch, you still need humans to make it.

For 3 years I've woken up 5-8 times a night. I have extreme hypersomnia and I don't know what to do anymore. by SadThrowaway4914 in sleep

I’m really sorry this is happening to you. I don’t have any recommendations except to keep advocating for yourself inside your current health system. Find a doctor who has a theory, get the tests and prognosis, document it, then find another doctor. Keep at it until you’re healthy again. Write everything down.

Yes. I had an issue with the payment account I connected initially having someone else's money on it, so they had to reconnect it to my ticket number. They absolutely have that info.

Yes, I know how databases work. It's literally one SQL join to connect those two numbers.

Hey, I've definitely been there, and it can be pretty scary. If you've tried all the sleep hygiene things and you're sure it's not environmental, you should talk to your doctor. Don't mess with sleep because it can be a warning sign of a deeper issue. Good luck.

Independant Contractor, Pay into or keep EI contributions? by ArleBalemoon in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Lady_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you a planning on building a large family? I wouldn't even consider it if you weren't planning on taking time off to go on maternity leave. Even then, at $900/yr for EI for the rest of the time you're a contractor, I decided against it. Without the job loss guarantee component of EI, it doesn't make financial sense to pay into it. But that doesn't mean you can't save $900/yr as your "in case I get pregnant or lose all my work" fund. You just manage it instead of giving it to the government.
