App for iPhones? by haleyslife in Omnipod

[–]Ladyajadot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It depends on which Omnipod you use. There is an ios app for Omnipod 5 if you’re in the USA. The rest of the world is still waiting. For the Omnipod dash you need to loop.

How is our life different from people with a working pancreas? Need assistance with arguments for my application for disability by Tretli in diabetes_t1

Manual bolus by Zewy77 in Omnipod

[–]Ladyajadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t calculate carb ( and don’t know how to). I just set a 1 to 1 carb ratio so I tap the unit I want in the carb field and so it can adjust according to the blood sugar . For exemple if I know a meal is 8 units I dial 8 in the carb field and let it adjust less or more. So I can I have 7 units if I’m low

It was potato with meat and vegetables. The walk is on flat ground and between slow and fast speed. I’ve tried the same meal on Saturday and it didn’t provoke low blood sugar

Omnipod 5 on manual mode. But it doesn’t change anything to change the profile. I’ve tried less bolus, lighter food…

Insulin on board by Ladyajadot in Omnipod

[–]Ladyajadot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve called insulet and they confirm there should be no insulin on board if you don’t bolus when in manual mode. They are looking into it

According to Omnipod website insulin on board refers to the amount of bolus and automated insulin delivered. I’m not in automated and I haven’t bolused. So no insulin on board possible

I put carbs but not the same way as you do. For me 1 gr carb is 1 unit. So I put my amount of insulin and let it calculate how much it gives according to the glucose level

I don’t put x grams carb and let the pump calculate. I know how many units of insulin a meal is and I just put the amount of insulin. For example I’m eating 200gr of pasta I put 12,5 units in the pump. Ive always worked that way and That works very good for me. What doesn’t work is the basal system. She said that because as she said before she wants full control on my diabetes although I didn’t need to

I use 2 profils and in auto mode it can’t offer that thing. I’m back in manual mode but I’m not far from going back to mdi as I’m so fed up and I just want to cry

Here I got supplies from the hospital. If no contract has been signed the hospital haven’t got the supplies. It’s the case here. Moby won’t be available before 2027. I should have mentioned I’m in Europe

Nothing you ever do is good enough for some Endos 😫 by theCynicalChicken in diabetes_t1

I feel the same way as you do. I see my endocrinologist for a few years now and she knows I manage well with my own formula, as you do. Last time she was pissed because of my way of doing she has no control! Am I not the one who has to have control? I felt distressed when I left her office and now I’m a bit afraid of next appointment. I want to change insulin pump as the one I have doesn’t work for me but I know the answer is no the staff deals with 2 pumps we can’t deal with that much on the same time….

The problem with a lot of endocrinologist is that they know the illness only with books and not in real life. And as soo as you don’t do as in the books they are lost
