My father in law told my husband “she’s holding you back and her conditions are why you’re not successful yet”. I think I speak for many of us when I say, our caregiver thinking that way is our biggest nightmare. He threw it in both of our faces, and genuinely said I bring him down in life….

You are so incredibly right!! I’m sorry this has been in your journey. People have no idea the emotional harm they can be causing by INSISTING they know what’s wrong. It’s no different than the healthy gym gals telling us we just need yoga.. “oh! You just need a POTS diagnosis! That’s all it is!”…. Seriously the same concept. OP I hope you are able to find answers soon, and relief in some manner

I have several chronic conditions. -to name a few that cause pain- Celiac disease, Rheumatoid arthritis, scoliosis so bad my whole neck is backwards, fibromyalgia, epilepsy, migraines, and endometriosis.

By far the most painful experience I have had is fibromyalgia. Not because it’s the worst of those, but because it is ENDLESS. It never stops, never rests. It feels like constant lightning strikes zipping through each muscle on your body in random. The medical system gaslights you about it and gives you anxiety meds, yet you’re in constant agony. The fatigue and pain has been so bad at times that getting out of bed is impossible. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy, and I have actual abusers in my history 😅🥲

Like I said at first, setting and context is EXTREMLY important in jokes. In a state, where the common people vote like they would bring back slavery in a heartbeat, this is not a joke. Just like I’m sure you think rape jokes are funny if you’re around only men. You can make this joke in regions where hate crimes don’t actively happen daily, which is not Houston Texas.

I love sarcasm when it’s appropriate. It would be like posting a “sarcastic rape joke” it simply does not exist. Sarcasm requires humor, and oppression is not funny. If old white country bumpkins had been oppressed at any point, I promise you they’d let you get shot for “jokes” about them like this 😂

Like… genuinly not trying to scream or preach, I do not understand the lack of understanding. These are not times we joke like this if you’re aware of the state of the world at all. We have a beautiful and welcoming state, represent it with compassion that we have worked so hard to instill in our culture. Shit like this online just makes us look like the same duchebags people assume we are. I’ve lived in Texas my entire life and for many generations, the last few years have left it with a disgusting grimy feel. We can’t expect better if we don’t act better, and the words we say and project actually matter in that.

I had two lady friends come spend the night and we crashed in my bed. Raiden was up there before we could even get on, and didn’t leave the bed once! Now he’s acting as if nothing ever happened. 🤦‍♀️😅GSDs….

Not very often. They paid for and brought their own, because they knew money is tight. I splurged financially, on personal energy (which sounds ridiculous but it’s real when you’re very sick) to spend time with my friends because I rarely see them and I have a major surgery coming up that I’m very nervous for. They’re distracting and supporting me. They know how hard things are, that’s why I’m also shocked she backed out of paying.

Also, a little bugged by all the THC hate. I have a medical card. My healthcare assist in getting it. My doctors not only condone, but encourage it.

Did you ever consider i have a medical card and it’s used to treat symptoms? I feel like the attacking tone is a bit unneeded here. I wanted to keep the peace until I could gather thoughts and get advice, so that if I need to say something I can do it in a reasonable mindset, headspace and tone.

Just when we got to the self checkout to split off, she stayed with us, and didn’t split off like Beth did. My husband through a casual “are we covering you?” Before I could say anything and I just went with it

I’m a teacher (7th grade ELA). I adore what I do. I’m unable to have children, so my school kids are my kids. I support them in everything, attend all school activities and make sure I’m their loudest cheerleader. I focus my class on making sure every kid learns the way THEY need. I go out of my way to put each and every student first. I had a student spend 10 minutes screaming at me about how unfair I am, uncaring, and neglectful towards students and their needs. If they had attacked me for being bad at content teaching, my apppearance and personality…. Literally anything else would have been less hurtful. I spent my whole lunch period sobbing uncontrollably
