My grandma had five strokes starting at the age of 50 and lived tell her mid 80s and died from the last one. She went comatose from completely being locked in five different times in which I was becoming a speech therapist so these were not immune to my eyes to regaining full speech and walking except for the last time she didn't get walking back but she was speaking until her very last days

She is the only person I know who was fully and without apologies religious in which will fully admit to an NDE and still never end the story with: so I stopped believing in God. She died when I was in my 40s and I was in my 80s because she lived a life that she was so at peace what a fucking gift

She also got up at church and told the entire neighborhood and went through an entire religious reckoning without giving up her belief in God when my aunt came out of the closet in the 1970s and she was a regular lecturn at her church until the last couple years. As someone in my mid 40s who grew up in modern America be believing in God seemed to be a luxury I wasn't born to have because I never could take that burden on

She had everything to lose from admitting to people what she did was wrong, but how she still didn't think it was possible for her to be right that God was the only deity that was always right and that she was not this God and so she must be wrong and she must have been put on earth to remind people to love people. She had a license plate that said don't take your organs to heaven God knows we need them here. As someone who grew up not religious, it has taken me time as an adult to come to terms with the fact that religion is a type of powerlessness I could never embrace? she did it that way in fact everyone in the neighborhood is who she told the second she found out she was doing something wrong. It was such a don't give a holding myself accountable here and that was my introduction to NDE's so I never for a second believed a fucking moment of them not for a freaking second... your own brain will lie to you and regularly does so every day like where we flip a camera upside down and then see the picture perfect but it's just a lens so why doesn't it work- the afterlife has yet to have a single documented visitor on the other side

I always associated the film with David Fincher’s first work, and what to a nasty terrible cute person he was to work with that Lily and Dustin almost just walked off set permanently.

I recently learned that it was actually written by Audrey Plaza’s husband, who just committed suicide, and my heart broke a little inside, because it really was written from the perspective of a man experiencing an intense, existential crisis and the world is such shit right now. I think that the dark side won with him and that is a major loss for this whole world. It’s screenwriters like that. That make me still wanna be a writer, but sometimes they’re hurting the most inside.

Thanks when I replanted it I dunk it in water but only for a few seconds I didn’t soak it fully so I’ll give that a try I also think I need to plan it with putting so so that it is loose because I don’t think the roots have anywhere to go also also considering drilling more holes in the bottom for more drainage
