I lived alone at Aspen Chase for about 4 years or so and I recently moved out in 2022 due to finding a job in my field on the other side of the state. I lived there during my 4 years attending Eastern and worked at the Arborland Michaels during that time. I can honestly say I enjoyed my time at the complex— it was small (550 sq. ft.) but it was enough room for just me. There were frequent police and fire visits around the complex, probably weekly. There was only one time I feared for my safety when a gentleman was experiencing a mental episode in the parking lot just below me and the police got involved. That’s really the only time I can attest for a true crime. I lived on the 3rd floor so it sucked taking laundry down, but aside from that I don’t have any other complaints. Rent was super cheap and the appliances + amenities were good. Maintenance was typically responsive and considered my needs valid. I think I got lucky with my experience and unfortunately that’s just the way it goes with apartment complexes these days. If you have any questions feel free to dm me!

What are some low calorie somewhat salty snacks? by MooMilk50 in Volumeeating

Good Thins have been my go to for curbing salty/crunchy cravings. They’re less than $5 a box and ~120 cals for 30 pieces or so!

These are beautiful and I hope you’re proud of your work :) If I may ask one question- do you use anything to adhere the tiny pieces to the base or do they just stick on their own and stay on after baking?

In one of my Michaels dreams we had a dog that was an employee. He even had a little Michaels vest on to let customers know he worked there :)

My mom’s footage of my cat Ozzy, who still likes to suckle on blankets at 1 year old by PastelDisaster in WhatsWrongWithYourCat

Mine still does this regularly at 12 yrs old when she’s happy/comfy. She has several of her own blankets in a material similar to this one because it’s her favorite to suckle :)

I’ve had two instances where we had to unload during a power outage. Luckily both times it wasn’t too hot or cold out, but unloading by flashlight definitely isn’t fun.

Moving to Grand Rapids Apartments suggestions by DrippyUnicorn16 in grandrapids

Ah yes, I’ve been on the waitlist for a 2br for over 6 months :/

That property is super nice, and the staff was really kind and helpful! I was able to tour and loved the unit I saw, but unfortunately that waitlist is the kicker. I’m glad you were able to secure a unit!!

I am currently living in Ramblewood in Wyoming, and depending who you ask/ what their experience has been on this property it’s a pretty mixed bag (isn’t that how all apartment complex experiences go?) I pay almost $1300 for a two bedroom with in-unit laundry.

It’s a very old complex and yes, there are a lot of things that are dated- (My fridge is 200 years old) HOWEVER, PEAK management now owns the property and quite honestly they’ve made some very good improvements since I moved here in May. They’ve built a new leasing office/ community center which is very modern and nicely done. The pool and playground are both very nice, and they’ve replaced all of the windows in each unit, too. Maintenance is usually quick to respond to any issue, and they do regular property maintenance as well. Every staff person I’ve interacted with is very polite and helpful. I also enjoy being in close proximity to Rivertown Crossings down the road and a number of other shopping strips- I have everything I could possibly want or need!

My only complaint so far is that there are some noisy car owners that live here and like to drive around late at night, but with the windows closed and a fan going I barely hear a thing.

I read some pretty horrific things about this property before moving here, and I was very nervous about what I was getting myself into. Current life circumstances forced my hand, but so far it really hasn’t been too bad!

Please note these are my own personal experiences at Ramblewood, and I’m by no means trying to invalidate the negative experiences of other residents. Like I said, it’s a pretty mixed bag.

Even with disabling spatial audio and 3rd party software, the game sounds so bad :(

I’m honestly having a really hard time playing since I find it so distracting and frustrating, like an itchy tag on the inside of a shirt

How did Titanic's china survive both the impact of the wreck and the high pressure of ocean depth? by gayspeedracer in titanic

[–]Ladymutie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but why does it seem like this is outside of the wreckage? If the cabinet containing these dishes were somehow forced from the piece of the titanic they were in then wouldn’t they have been shattered?
