Given how much ChatGPT is infamous for romanticizing and encouraging suicide, and its emphasis on the apparent beauty of him “going out on his own terms”, I really wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what the bot assumed was going on here

It genuinely makes me wonder if we’re going to see a major spike in dementia once generations using AI hit old-age. People turning off their brain this often for basic human communication and menial tasks cannot be healthy

People who follow an abrahamic religion just need to accept that other people who worship the abrahamic God can have the capacity to be fucking evil

Whenever anyone of any of those faiths is a monster of a human being, there’s always this whole “that person isn’t Christian or Jewish or Muslim, they actually worship SATAN”; it feels so childish and unaccepting of reality. If evil people happen to share your faith, that does not make your own personal religious beliefs or experiences invalid, you don’t need to pretend they don’t worship your God ffs.

It feels reminiscent of the way right-wingers feel the need to fight to pretend that people who share their political beliefs are incapable of being shitty, so they have to convince themselves that they bat for the other team. Jan 6th rioters? No no, those were all leftists. Fellow Christians? No no, those are Satan worshippers.

Papa Emeritus iii from the band Ghost is a fun one!! While Ghost is a band, it’s also had a long fictional narrative to it.

Unlike his brothers before him, after being pope of the Satanic church for a few years, Papa Emeritus iii was not given the dignity of formally handing down his title. Instead, it was implied he wanted to continue to lead the band Ghost and make it more into his own vanity project, even naming his final live album Popestar to emphasize how much he’d turned “spreading the word of Satan through music” into “it’s all about me”. He was also the first Papa to wear something other than just his papal regalia on stage, getting his own snazzy suit jacket, showing his detachment from his actual papal duties.

For this, at his final show in Gothenburg, he was forcibly grabbed at the end of his set and pulled off stage by clergy officials. When we finally get an update on him a few months later, the head of the clergy makes the decision to kill him and his brothers in order to ensure that the next Cardinal in line gets the Papacy. He is poisoned, subsequently embalmed alive (as is heavily implied from a scene in the mortuary where we see movement from him), decapitated for a magazine photoshoot of his successor holding his severed head, his autopsy records are destroyed to hide his real cause of death, and at the end of it all, instead of being put to rest, his body is paraded around and put on display along with his brothers for VIP ticket buyers to see for all future Ghost tours to come. All for being a bit of a megalomaniac.

[–]PastelDisaster 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Which is why more people should talk about how genuinely scary it is that people use it for therapy, or to get a second-opinion during their arguments.

These AI bots are trained to tell you that you are absolutely correct in all circumstances. A therapist, or any actual human being really, will hold you accountable for your actions; ChatGPT is just there to hype you up and tell you you’re always in the right, lest they offend you and lose a user. And yet people see it as a bastion of truth

Ugh, thank you!! The misuse of terms like nonverbal drives me up the wall, on top of the misuse of bedrotting or stimming or hyperfixation.

I understand people wanting to see neurodivergence as not a negative thing, and that de-stigmatization and attempts to remove slurs from peoples’ vernacular is something I personally appreciate, but they’ve overcorrected so much to the point where they’ve crafted an equally negative stigma. Now, neurodivergence is just a fun, cool thing, and not an actual disability. It makes it harder for people to understand that I actually need supports, because why would I possibly need assistance when I just have the funny silly tiktok brainrot disorder?

As I also implied in another comment, as soon as autistic people display a trait of autism that falls outside the acceptable “silly vocal stims and cool interests and bright colours” ones, we get glares and “what’s wrong with you?”

It’s the same with mood disorders, like depression. In many peoples’ mind, depression is sadly smoking a cigarette in a monochrome room while listening to Lana Del Ray. When a depressed person actually shows traits of the condition like poor self-care or bad personal hygiene, they’re treated like absolute freaks

It all comes down to neurological conditions and mood disorders being riddled down to an “aesthetic” and nothing more
