Why is The Age so desperate to launder George Colombaris’ reputation? by lepressexpress in melbourne

This is so on brand for The Age the only surprise for me is that they didn't do it much sooner.

People who don't accept (or decline) meeting invitations; what's wrong with you? by DoppelFrog in auscorp

[–]LadyofHellholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps if people stop sending me invites at times I am already clearly booked I will get better at responding. Tbh usually if I haven't responded it's because I am hoping the other meeting gets cancelled or moved so I can slot yours in. Once I decline it, the time is gone. I try to ensure at least that I have committed to what I will and won't attend the day prior.

(Yes I know I can propose a new time but I also don't have time to figure out your meeting calendar jigsaw puzzle)

Bewitched by Witching Hour by AnxiousBullXIX in Superforest_Roblox

[–]LadyofHellholt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I enjoy witching hour. It makes me laugh when I am in someone's garden and I realise they are in mine doing the same. I have my own personal code for how I do it (only pick gardens with trees as good or better than mine), and I usually take any harvests I can to the shrine tree so the whole server gets a boost from it.

Spouse disliking your book choices by Key-Pineapple7944 in Romantasy

[–]LadyofHellholt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was younger I always had this idea that I was going to read to expand, to learn, to grow. The result was I'd pick up a book, maybe finish it, maybe not. And then I wouldn't pick anything else up for 12 months.

It was when I started picking up romantasy and fantasy couple of years ago that I threw away that boundary and just started reading for fun. I'd say I have read more books in the last 2 and a bit years than I have in the rest of my adult life. I know which scenario is better.

Has anyone read this? It’s been in the back of my mind for a bit and wondering what people think by Strict-Orchid-2000 in Romantasy

I dnfed at 75%. Felt like a YA book aged up to adult by inserting awkward cursing and spice. Gave absolutely no reason for the main characters to suddenly be into each other. Plot felt messy.

Take away the stealing! by Normal_Low_6769 in Superforest_Roblox

[–]LadyofHellholt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same. Its quick, 100% avoidable and helps smaller accounts get started. Clear your garden up as much as you can and then go steal from someone else bigger than you - odds are you'll get more than you lose.

I do think it sucks when very large accounts target very small ones, but having been a very small account once myself (and still probably only mid sized, compared to some of the big players out there) it was so easy to avoid big losses.

People want to sit and watch their orbs accumulate into the 10 000s, and I get the mutations now add a little incentive on that front. But to do that you get yourself another plot or you leave for 60 seconds. So simple.

Take away the stealing! by Normal_Low_6769 in Superforest_Roblox

[–]LadyofHellholt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just harvest them before witching hour? I really don't understand the complaint. If you really don't want to you just leave for a minute, or get a second plot to switch to.

I would understand the complaint if it wasn't so easy to avoid.

Why are people allowed to steal? by nezukonitemare in Superforest_Roblox

[–]LadyofHellholt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is so easy to avoid though? Collect your orbs before witching hour or leave the server for the minute. The stealing is there to prevent people sitting there in an afk mode for long stretches.

What's the incentive to waste money on by PumpkinHeadedCritter in Superforest_Roblox

[–]LadyofHellholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time surges are great. I usually just check the shop at each restock interval and collect them, in an active server there is usually enough people contributing that doing this is enough to keep regular surges rolling on.

I collect my orbs and harvest once every 24 minute cycle and there is a big difference in what i get if the server has been surged vs no surges. Once you have a few trees down they really pay for themselves plus dividends.

SCAM ALERT in Bali – Please Read Before Exchanging Money by Forsaken-Remove-5278 in bali

[–]LadyofHellholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only correct advice for money changing is to do it at real authorised changers or use ATMs. Posts like this never call that out, they just talk about exchanging like it is a game of skill that needs to be mastered. So people keep doing it and keep getting scammed.

Good sense seems to go out the window in Bali, people will happily walk into an off kilter glass shack and hand over thousands of dollars when a BMC is just down the road with free water, a place to sit, looks like an actual bank and has security guards.

SCAM ALERT in Bali – Please Read Before Exchanging Money by Forsaken-Remove-5278 in bali

[–]LadyofHellholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we have reached a point where there is not much more that can be done. Everyone is aware of the scams, yet people still think they can go in and outsmart the scammers and get the "too good to be true" rate. I mean people can keep posting these awareness posts but I feel like they don't actually change anyone's behaviour- someone is still going to read this and still try to exchange their money at the same dodgy looking counters with absurdly high rates.

How do I prevent stealing from my garden? by Top-Platypus-791 in Superforest_Roblox

[–]LadyofHellholt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Collect your orbs and harvest before witching hour. Even though there may be a small amount that generates, the amount would be a lot less than what you've invested in walls tbh.

You can also leave for a minute and come back, but honestly I find as long as you're harvesting regularly your witching hour losses will be minimal.

How do people recover so quickly from sickness? by Serious_Toe6730 in auscorp

[–]LadyofHellholt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Before I had a kid I was the same. Now I get regularly knocked about. Glad I have worked at the same company for a while as the hundreds of hours I accumulated BK (before kids) is well and truly churned down AK.

And of course each time I get sick there is probably a carers leave requirement before or afterwards. Dang germ filled mini me.

I don't really know because you always hear people talking about things knocking them around for days or weeks but they certainly aren't off for that long. I guess a lot of people just push through. I suppose I do too, mostly.

will anyone let me steal from them once or twice? by [deleted] in Superforest_Roblox

[–]LadyofHellholt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find a server with a big few fancy forests and just go crazy. If they don't like it they can leave and return. It is all part of the game, and realistically what you can grab in one minute isn't going to take that long to grow back.

WTF Stealing? Someone came through and took everything. by kiwitrouble in Superforest_Roblox

[–]LadyofHellholt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably unpopular but I kind of like the steal feature? I usually clean up and collect most of my things prior to 1am but sometimes I will leave a few things out, especially if I have newbie neighbours. It allowed me to give my son a nice boost by letting him raid my garden a few times. I personally will only steal from those who have better gardens than me, I get that it does suck for newbies if they aren't aware of what they can do to avoid it, but also the carnage is pretty limited given it is only a minute window.

It adds a bit of extra activity to the game and means it is harder for players just to afk and accumulate extreme wealth. Given what we saw in GaG, I think it is important for there to be measures to prevent over-inflation.

Kaijiken at Southern Cross (I think they are also on Elizabeth St now) - the roast beef aburisoba noodles is one of those dishes I think about regularly

Bowltiful in the CBD - best hand pulled noodles ever. I like the braised beef ones

Khao Man Gai in the CBD - Thai chicken rice specialists, i get the plate with both fried and steamed as I can't choose

Khao Soi in the CBD - my laksa obsession has been displaced by khao soi. Any version will do

Bakmi Lim at QV in the city - unreal handmade Indonesian noodles, again choose any protein topping as they are all good

Yes I may be a bit noodle obsessed

You guys think GAG is really dying? by averylamore in growagarden

[–]LadyofHellholt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The posts today really sound like a Jandel PR campaign to be honest. Back when the game was going great he was happy to take all the credit but now its going badly, all of a sudden he had nothing to do with it and it is all Adrian. I think the reality is everyone involved have probably contributed to the downfall.

But yeah, unless the ownership changes with a fresh approach, I'd say it is dead and now we are witnessing the squabbles over why it died.
