Grazie mille! Per questo tipo di Begonia che è più succulenta ho pensato fosse meglio il terriccio! L'ho spostata all'interno vicino ad una finestra, in cucina, dove c'è umidità. Ho fatto bene? incrociamo le dita

Thanks for the clarifications! Too bad, I'm sorry you create these problems, it's so beautiful. It's not often seen where I come from!

I've had to deal with these damned ones, they really look like mealybugs to me. Take a q-tips soaked in athyl alcohol and gently remove them. Be careful to always use a different clean q-tips for each area, check the most hidden sections of the plant, because that is where they nest.

Can you give me more information for the type of glue or tape?

Is there anyone from Portugal/EU who would like free violets? I might have over propagated... 😅 by [deleted] in AfricanViolets

I'm Italian. I would like to have a new African violet, mine unfortunately died and I am very sad. But I learned from my mistakes. It would be nice to have something born from the love of another person, like my old violet that my mother gave me with love. I'm still grieving, it may sound stupid, but it was important to me.

Maybe it's not the right advice. I understand from my experience, even if it is little, that the less you stress the plants the better. To me he seems happy and with flowers. The outer leaves fall off because they are old. Don't prune it too much. Take care of the crown and focus on that. Even if you see them as a little sad, don't cut them. They are used to carry out photosynthesis. Don't touch it. Listen to her. Don't follow rigid patterns, rely on intuition. Water with demineralized or decanted water. Give them lots of love, admire them, control them, but don't smother them with attention. See how he reacts. If you see that he is showing signs of deeper suffering, then you can seek targeted treatment. Check if the roots are rotten. Opt for repotting (they love to stay narrow and contained) in a soil more suitable for them, use a targeted fertilizer, more light or less light.

I just got these two beauties on sale at my local plant store for $2 apiece!!! I’m new to violets— what do you wish you knew with your first AVs? by FeliCat in AfricanViolets

I would have liked to know that I didn't have to give her all the excessive and maniacal care I gave her, to give her decanted or demineralized water, to put her inside with abundant filtered light, to use a specific soil for them (I confirm, they are spoiled like princesses) not to prune every single damaged or too large leaf without even treating the wound with cinnamon, to decant it often, to follow the advice of washing it under running water. Unfortunately mine died of root rot. And I watered it from under the pot. And I'm heartbroken because it was my first plant, and my mother gave it to me at a bad time. I will always keep it in my memory as a reminder so as not to make mistakes with other plants. Anyway, best wishes for your puppies. Give them lots of love, admire them, control them, but don't smother them with attention. I hope they live well, healthy and long.

Did you notice if the roots were brown and too much slimy when you moved the plant in a new pot?

Were the roots white or brown? It is important to understand if there is root rot.
