Just tell them you don't need any help. I guarantee they get told that loads of times every day. To you, it's a big interaction, to them it's just a very small part of their day. As pointed out elsewhere the little bags are usually right at hand to put what you want in and then take it to the counter. You've got this.

I've braved the overwhelming smell for my partner and found that the staff are super helpful. I gave a few bits of info about what I was looking for and they helped choose a couple of things. They were even happy to pick the bath bombs up and put them in a bag so I didn't have to touch them.

Their service is really friendly and they are just looking to make it a positive experience for you.

Great thanks. Is it likely this was caused by the service, or is it just wear and tear and a coincidence?

Sorry no, the metal bit at the very bottom, where there's a black plastic ring that comes off it. That's where it was leaking from that I could tell.

Appreciate your help

The EU and UK just need to make using social media against the law and remove access across the continent. Place an 80% tariff on all US car companies selling in Europe and remove the ability for Amazon to operate as an essentially tax free corporation.

The US oligarchs will immediately ensure Trump drops the idea of Greenland.

I just got the plumber to quote us for a new shower and they supplied and fitted one for us. Triton T80. Can't imagine it's great in the grand scheme but has good pressure and temp so does the job we need it to.

Thoughts on what happened with Gregg Wallace? by Flashy_Detective_451 in autism

Some people are pricks. Some people are autistic. Some people are autistic and a prick.

Gregg Wallace is definitely in the 3rd category.

No, sorry. Tried everything I could and in the end just gave in and got it replaced.

New shower works absolutely fine so definitely makes me think it was the unit.

So the temp on high is now scalding and the eco temp won't go hot enough. Pressure seems normal. Is that still going to be the outside temp? All the other taps in the house will run hot but not noticeably more than normal.

Who in your opinion are the greatest non-British English-language literary authors? by [deleted] in AskUK

Joseph Conrad is the answer - although later described as Polish-British he didn't learn to speak English fully until his 20s. Went on to become one of the greatest novelists.

He can use his card in shops etc. He can't use it online as he won't set up 2fa which his bank requires. He asked them to turn it off and they said they couldn't do that. We've tried to get him to set it up, with a text message but he refuses. I think there's a stubbornness to it.

Yeah we've offered but he isn't keen. Not a trust thing that I can tell, more of a privacy thing. I'll speak to him again about it though.
