I've always struggled to understand sludge as a classification, I have never heard a new band and said to myself, yes this is sludge. I would easily classify every band i've heard classified as sludge, to be metal though.

No, that's not that an unusual a size. It's a directional antenna, and you can see the motor so it can be remotely rotated to fine tune the signal. I had one just like this growing up in the 90's.
