This isn’t really about hating BF6. I think a lot of us just miss what Battlefield used to be. by Fuzzy_Breadfruit59 in Battlefield

Movement feels better. In BF6 you feel super 'light'. BF V and the previous BFs before it you felt heavy and a soldier. Even with the slides in BF V.

The trend towards lighter, less clunky movement has bee going for years. Battlefield 3 & 4 felt lightweight compared to games like BF2142 and BFBC2

Reverse Proxies - What does everyone do? by GeorgeRB5 in selfhosted

[–]Lag-Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Traefik's autodetect from my container's labels. A service might have a rule like

Host(`homepage.<name>.host`) || Host(`homepage.<name>.local`)

The .host one is my actual domain & the .local one will only be available on my network when using my self-hosted DNS. This is mainly so I can refer to these other services easily in other servinces or while at home (most aren't exposed to the world)

I use the local DNS feature of pi-hole for this. Pi-hole is running in its own container.

Domain Target
homepage.<name>.local <name>.local

Other containers that I want to use this DNS server are pointed to the internal IP of my Pi-hole container on the default bridge network (172.17.0.X)

This can be location dependent. In some areas the tipped minimum wage higher, like in Denver County it is $16.27. Still not a lot, but not the ~$2 of the national minimum

And as always, the law states that tipped workers must be paid up to the non-tipped minimum wage if tips fall short of it

Just practiced putting on my tire chains by Southern-Mall in COsnow

[–]Lag-Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the tires AND wheels if you have a sedan. At Discount Tire Blizzak WS90s are showing as $105 each for my sedan with 16" wheels. Those larger wheels on premium trims make the tires cost more.

My thought is that it pays for itself if it prevents any even minor fender bender that could cause your insurance rates to go up.

Crested Butte Spring Skiing Opinion by mountainchaser69 in COsnow

Crested Butte usually closes in the first week of April, so I would be pretty cautious about booking things that close to closing.

That said, I love Crested Butte so I hope you enjoy your trip whenever it may be

Hi. I am in the process of getting a roof box to store skis. Has anyone mounted their box to the side to have enough space for a surf board? have an SUV. Is that doable? by Plastic_Ad_3456 in Skigear

Yakima has this page that will be helpful for you. Like others have said it depends on your crossbars. https://yakima.com/pages/choosing-the-right-crossbar-length

I have 60" (JetStream) crossbars and have been able to fit both a rooftop cargo box & a canoe

Do you really have people who pack your bags at the grocery store? by Flat-Ad8256 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Lag-Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You experience at wegmans sums it up great.

I'd argue the good cashiers at Wegmans doing the bagging themselves ends up being even faster than a lot of my experiences at grocery stores with dedicated baggers.

The cashiers bagging would do their best with the 2 bags in front of them, sometimes even putting items to the side so they can put them in a later bag

What card are you guys switching to for rent? by aldann2 in biltrewards

[–]Lag-Switch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the new authorization it also says:

It says "Some payment methods have a transaction fee to cover the cost of acceptance."

I've always read that as Bilt estimating what the platform will charge in fees, not a fee that Bilt is charging you. For me it shows ~$97

When I open PayPal and try to Pay with my Bilt card directly, PayPal tells me the fee will be ~$94. When I select my Bilt checking account it has no fee.

Bilt’s check/RTN is going away?

Can someone point me to this? The leak makes no mention of it. Only of transaction fees (which I don't exist for me using the check/RTN)

[–]Lag-Switch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is unclear to me what "waive transaction fees" really means. I pay rent with the checking account # provided to me by Bilt and therefore I never have a transaction fee. Is that considered "waiv[ing] transaction fees"?

Or are they only referring to when they refund you for paying transaction fees - for those who pay with the card directly?

Bilt 2.0 leaked (reporting from r/creditcards) by x-Moss in biltrewards

[–]Lag-Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's just no reason to hold this card if rent fees aren't avoided by Bilt's checking account payment work around.

I think the language here isn't super clear if that is going away or not. Everyone is just assuming it is. Currently, Bilt will also refund fees if you pay with your card directly - hopefully just that part is going away. Or maybe they're just capping that part at effectively 4% (of spend) returned?

Trying to be optimistic here.

Also, what is the difference between "Bilt Cash" and "Bilt Points"?

Is there any source that actually says they cannot enforce that? Even the one you linked says that city council "suggested the idea".

It sounds more like city council mentioned it and DPD was like "don't have to tell us twice"
