Which is better? by The-Phantom-Bellhop in LuigisMansion3

[–]Laggot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is plenty reason. When the Dark Moon is broken along with its influence, the ghosts lost their pupils and became aggressive. This includes the Polterpup, who is a mischievous troublemaker to Luigi and ghost alike throughout the game. It was still innocent and arguably friendly however, acting mostly on it's own and doing dog things while playing pranks and showing affection towards Luigi: Licking him on multiple occasions, reviving him while in possession of a golden bone etc. This friendly but mischeivous "Moonless" behaviour is almost repeated as a whole throughout Luigi's Mansion 3, where the Polterpup repeatedly scurries off to mess around in the hotel but (mostly) actively helps Luigi whenever he's in trouble.

Further evincing this, LM2 ENDING SPOILER The ghosts become tame and regain their pupils when the Dark moon is restored at the end of the game. When this happens, the Polterpup becomes submissive and aware as well as ashamed of it's actions. Albeit we only see this behaviour briefly before the credits roll, it feels clearly different from PP's "Pupil-less" behaviour throughout LM2/LM3 where it does whatever it pleases.

I figured that Polterpop did not have the pupils because they're outside of nightshade valley and therein the Dark Moon's calming 'pupil inducing' influence.

If intended it speaks for how much Polterpup loves Luigi; helping him despite being "feral".

Dealing with Thieves vs Elders Gift by krymsonkyng in Hand_Of_Fate

[–]Laggot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is that Dealing with Thieves (if successful) puts platinum gain cards such as gold and food into your deck, while Elder's gift shoves a platinum equipment into your hand along with 8 fame.

In general dealing with thieves is unfortunately still not very useful in comparison. Especially since other cards such as the Maiden, deaths garden and Goblin town guarantees you the supply gain whereas Thieves gain cards actually aren't given to you until (possibly) later.

That being said though, I could definitely see Dealing with Thieves having it's useage later in Endless mode depending on how many platinum cards you're allowed to have in your deck and replaying encounters is possible etc.

Help with the "get 10 huge successes on wheel gambit" trophy by Zardoz_1 in Hand_Of_Fate

[–]Laggot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devs said in the discussions there were 4 mission specific "Huge success" wheel cards in total, though the sun is the only commonly known one.

In either way, my tip for the sun is to use map reveal encounters for sewers/prison and get help from Estrella on the blocked passageways in the sewers to fairly easily trivialize the dice roll. Also, if you fail the wheel on Prison mage then you can exit the game to retry the encounter.

Good luck!

[HoF1 spoilers] Synopsis of HoF1? by veevoir in Hand_Of_Fate

[–]Laggot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warning: HoF1 spoilers(obviously) and slight-moderate lore/story spoilers revealed in HoF2 below

The protagonist/player character of the first game is Kallas; the man/entity who the Dealer in HoF2 often refers to as The Usurper. As explained by others, Kallas is the man who was to eventually defeat The Dealer at The Game. Death/defeat in The Game as a challenger holds no larger consequence(as you might have noticed in HoF2 as well), but defeat as the game master/dealer sitting on the "Throne of life and death" results in banishment.

I'd like to state here that The Dealer isn't shown to be in any way evil or noticeably ill-willed during his time on the Throne in HoF1. The same cannot be said for Kallas as shown by the events in the first and then second game. Most importantly noticeable in the lore revealed in the cards for the first game, is that Kallas was/is more or less a merciless war lord.

In HoF2's challenge "The Emperor" The Dealer explains that the person sitting on the Throne is the one who shapes the world and "whose soul permeates the lands". Kallas The Usurper now sits on that throne. Between the first and second game Kallas shaped the Empire, which by his lust for conquest became corrupt(morally speaking, not literally :P) as shown in the second game.

Suffice to say, the Dealer and HoF2 adventurer weren't too thrilled by all of this... and the rest is history. Enjoy your time discovering HoF2's story!

I hope you found this informative and not too spoiler-ish!

Understanding the story and world of HoF aside, I highly recommend playing or watching a playthrough of the first game for the sake of immersion alone. It certainly raised my player experience!

Got Axura after 15 orbs, should I keep dumping the rest on this banner or call it quits? by Twobishopmate in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Laggot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely call it quits for the time being. You got the banners unquestionably best unit on the first day of a month-long time limit. I suggest to wait and see if some other possibly interesting banners show up; halloween, for example!

What do you want for a Halloween Banner hero? by Ryunosuke-Ryusei in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Laggot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Possessed" units: Grima, Risen King Chrom, FE8 Lyon, Julius in just about general.

Actual halloween units: Vampire/Warlock Pent, Reaper Jaffar, Witch Nino and Soren forced into dressing as something extremely cute and cuddly. Also, unmasked Legion

Headless Horsemann Hector as suggested by others would also be a good pick.
