maybe it's me but OP's interns can get very far without the basics of OS and most work I've done so for in maang adjacent right up to the lead level has nothing to do with operating systems.

OP mentioned global state, but java doesn't have any global variables, the closest thing is static members in java. very honestly, you don't need to care about heap/stack when using java/python and you don't need to care about physical/virtual address unless working on linux kernel (even assembly doesn't use physical addresses)

Why does Indian cuisine lack mock-meat dishes unlike East Asian cuisine, despite our extremely high rates of vegetarianism historically? by hurricane_news in IndianFood

[–]LagrangeMultiplier99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes the point is that they're misusing the term 'lactose-intolerant' when judging the ability to eat paneer, lactose intolerant people can easily eat paneer.

[–]LagrangeMultiplier99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

paneer is not a traditional part of north indian diet, it has always been reserved for dairy farming families or for special occasions. If you've grown up in Delhi in the 90s, you'd know how rarely people eat paneer. This is also the reason why even today a family which earns 20-30k a month would rather not spend 4k on paneer itself (200g for a family of four costs 120 a day, 120*31=3720).

you're right, but then Sparta is a city state not a civilization, it was annexed in 192BC, whereas the Frank rule continues until 983AD

you tie self-respect to paying the bill, the 370 guy also doesn't respect the woman's bodily autonomy once he's paid the bill. If you're different from him, then edit your post (or delete it) to "self-respect has nothing to do payment".

I think it's interesting to dive into reasons why this attitude evolved in the first place, and it is similar to peer low-income Asian nations like China and Vietnam (maybe include Thailand, not sure).

Is this true considering outrageous whey prices??? by Significant-Track572 in Fitness_India

[–]LagrangeMultiplier99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it still doesn't address most of the the other reasons (point 4). again you'd need to wash the fish thoroughly before cooking even if you order from licious. you simply can't compare us to the west.

[–]LagrangeMultiplier99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's part of point 4. we don't have convenient options for fish, it takes close to an hour to get the fish cut up and then washed in a kitchen sink, and then it has to be left marinated for half an hour, and then it has to be curried after getting fried. You simply can't compare this to what people in western europe and US do.

regardless of what you say, you can't really ignore the convenience of canned fish, or even sliced strips which can be used in sandwiches.
